    Position Overview:

    Masterworks is looking for a New York-based Gallery Events Manager to focus on hosting events that bring in 50+ visitors a day to the gallery, as well as manage daily operation logistics of a world-class art gallery. 

    Located at 30 East 74th street, the gallery is used to educate potential investors on art investing by organizing different exhibits of major artists like Banksy, Basquiat, and others, with daily investor events held nightly, from 4-7:30pm.

    Responsibilities include: 

    Investor Events (70% of time):

    • Follow-up on ~50 RSVPs per day, and confirm attendance for the upcoming evening.  Attempt to space-out attendees across a three hour block so the gallery does not become too busy
    • Curate and host seamless, interactive, and welcoming events, coordinating with our financial advisors 
    • Act as the on-site art expert, helping educate Masterworks financial advisors and visitors on the art on display
    • Act as resident art expert with visitors
    • Support investment advisors by scheduling follow-up meetings for people who attended a show but our Masterworks financial advisors did not have a chance to speak with

    Gallery Operations (30%): 

    • Open and close the gallery every day at 11am and 7:30pm
    • Work with Collections Manager on shipping and installations for shows, oversee care and keeping of artworks on view in tandem with installation team 
    • Manage security guard and housekeepers 

    Background & Requirements:  

    • A sales-oriented personality, comfortable with client outreach and sales
    • A demonstrated passion for art history, the art market, or the asset class
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong people skills 
    • Previous art gallery experience, with a focus on events a huge plus
    • Well-dressed and personable
    • Highly organized and proactive
    • Bachelor’s Degree

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be eligible for full-time US work - no exceptions.
    • Must be able to work from our Upper East Side gallery

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11am - 7:30pm

    Compensation Range: $65,000 - 70,000
