Rockstar is seeking a Cinematic Gameplay Capture Artist. This role is responsible for shooting in-game footage for use in online, TV and cinema campaigns. Our process involves using internal video capture tools to record both cinematic and live gameplay footage in a virtual 3D game environment. The successful candidate will love video games, movies, TV - pop culture generally - and demonstrate the ability to identify and capture cinematic moments in-game. They will work well both on their own and directed closely within a team.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan. 

• The Gameplay Capture Artist works closely with Video Editors within the Video Production Department to create outstanding video assets, featuring exclusively in-game captured footage.
• We utilize proprietary internal tools to create high-quality footage from established games and those in development.
• We shoot both single player and multiplayer scenarios across a multitude of platforms.
• We support our employees with a culture of career development, safety, and inclusion.

• Identify and capture dynamic, film-quality in-game content to create imagery which demonstrates the game’s aesthetics, narrative, and technical assets.
• Rapidly master games in development.
• Utilize debug functions as well as new and evolving in-game tools.
• Work with varying levels of supervision and creative direction, ranging from complete autonomy to working with a director to capture specific requests.
• Work at a fast pace on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Problem-solve to achieve the best possible results while working within the confines of titles still in development.

• Professional experience creating visual content in digital or standard media (video, photography, gaming, etc.).
• Working knowledge of current platform (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, PC) video game titles.
• An enthusiasm for and extensive knowledge of movies, TV, pop culture, and music videos.
• Thorough understanding of and passion for Rockstar’s games specifically.
• Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office.

• Creative, collaborative, and adaptable.
• Experience with cameras, lighting, and composition.
• Can identify dynamic in-game moments and translate them into visually stunning, comprehensible shots.
• Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
• A strong work ethic and a desire to get the job done right no matter what.

• Production experience; knowledge of editing process.
• Practical experience with game engine software
