CSI Sands (N.E.) operates state of the art processing facilities to produce industrial silica sand products in Brevort, MI, Buffalo, NY and Cleveland, OH.


We are currently searching for a General Accountant to complement our team located in Buffalo, NY.   


Reporting to the Financial Controller, the General Accountant will be responsible for:


  • Assisting in monthly close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Leading month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Cash tracking and forecasting.
  • Collaborating with various departments to gather necessary financial data required for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Monitoring and evaluating existing processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Maintaining year-end working papers and spreadsheets.
  • Reviewing, preparing and ensuring payment of Federal, State and other applicable taxes.
  • Other related accounting duties as required or assigned.

 Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 + years of related experience.
  • A college or university diploma/degree, majoring in finance or accounting.
  • CPA designation would be an asset.
  • Experience within the trucking, heavy hauling or mining industries would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain great relationships with managers, co-workers and owners.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
