Ardent is seeking a Geospatial (GIS) Solutions Architect-Engineer to join our team to join our team.  

This is a remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is hiring for a Geospatial (GIS) Solutions Architect-Engineer specializing with experience in the ESRI toolsets, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing geospatial solutions that leverage ESRI's suite of tools and technologies. You will be the driving force behind creating geospatial systems that empower our organization and clients to make informed decisions using ESRI's advanced geospatial capabilities. This role requires a deep understanding of ESRI products, spatial data, software development, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

ESRI Solution Design and Architecture:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust geospatial solutions using ESRI toolsets.
  • Design architectures that integrate ESRI products such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise into comprehensive geospatial systems.
  • Develop technical specifications, diagrams, and documentation to guide development teams in building ESRI-based solutions.

ESRI Toolset Expertise:

  • Demonstrate mastery of ESRI toolsets, APIs, and libraries to design and develop tailored solutions.
  • Evaluate the applicability of ESRI extensions and add-ons to meet specific project requirements.
  • Utilize ESRI's geospatial capabilities to solve complex spatial problems and deliver actionable insights.
  • Support on Esri products such as Notebook Server, Knowledge Server, ArcPro, Monitor, etc.

Custom Development and Integration:

  • Lead the development of custom geospatial applications and tools using ESRI's APIs (ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcPy, ArcObjects, etc.).
  • Integrate ESRI solutions with other enterprise systems and databases, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Provide thought leadership on novel cloud-based approaches and integrations to increase program efficacy across an enterprise.

Geospatial Data Management:

  • Design and implement geodatabases using ESRI's geodatabase model, enforcing data integrity, relationships, and geospatial standards.
  • Optimize data storage, indexing, and querying for large-scale geospatial datasets within ESRI environments.

ESRI Platform Deployment:

  • Plan and execute the deployment of ESRI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or on-premises infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage ArcGIS Enterprise components, including web services, map services, and data services.

Geospatial Analysis and Visualization:

  • Apply advanced geospatial analysis techniques using ESRI's spatial analytics tools.
  • Create dynamic and visually appealing geospatial visualizations, dashboards, and web maps using ArcGIS Online and other ESRI tools.

Collaboration and Client Engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including developers, data scientists, project managers, and clients.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to clients on leveraging ESRI technologies to address their geospatial challenges.

Quality Assurance and Performance Optimization:

  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of geospatial solutions through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Optimize performance of ESRI-based applications, addressing latency and responsiveness issues.

Continuous Learning and Innovation:

  • Stay updated on ESRI product updates, releases, and best practices.
  • Explore and experiment with new ESRI tools and capabilities to propose innovative solutions to complex geospatial problems.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geospatial Sciences, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working with ESRI toolsets, products, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used in ESRI environments (Python, JavaScript, .NET).
  • In-depth understanding of geodatabase design, spatial data formats, and geospatial analysis techniques.
  • Experience with deploying and managing ArcGIS Enterprise and related components.
  • Applied knowledge of utilizing webhooks, accessing APIs, interacting with REST services.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their integration with ESRI products.
  • Ability to create engaging geospatial visualizations and dashboards using ArcGIS Online.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design creative solutions using ESRI toolsets.
