GIVEMESPORT is one of the world’s largest independent sports media publishers. We cover news, features, and interviews across a broad range of sports, from football to MMA, catering our content to a global audience of more than 30 million fans each and every month.
We’re looking for freelance Sports Writers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an eye for identifying trending stories, a sharp editorial voice, and the ability to produce high-quality content in an efficient and impactful manner. Candidates must be located in the US or Canada.
 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Write 6 stories per day (primarily news and short features).
  • Stay on top of U.S. sports news cycles and spot trends before they peak.
  • Work with editors to pitch ideas, refine angles, and optimize content for SEO and social.
  • Ensure accuracy, journalistic integrity, and a consistent editorial tone.

Experience and Skills

  • Strong knowledge and passion for sports (NBA, NFL, WWE, Tennis, F1, Boxing, MMA).
  • Proven experience in sports writing for a digital publication.
  • Proven ability to produce multiple stories a day.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital content strategies.
  • Experience optimizing content for Facebook and Discover is a big plus!
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
