The Global Client Leader (GCL) will serve as a trusted partner to a large multinational beverage company responsible for leading Edelman’s fully integrated communications and marketing solutions across regions, practices, and disciplines. This individual will be a transformational leader, tasked with unlocking new opportunities for growth, fostering global collaboration, and inspiring teams to deliver innovative, AI enabled, measurable, and business-driven results. 

The GCL will be a visible, present, and strategic counselor to the client’s leaders, orchestrating a global team that draws upon Edelman’s full range of expertise. Success will be defined by sustained client growth and retention, the activation of high-performing global teams, and the ability to anticipate and adapt to market shifts with bold, integrated solutions. 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Serve as a senior advisor, building and maintaining trusted relationships with global and regional leaders.  

  • Translate complex business challenges into integrated communications and marketing strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.  

  • Curate and synthesize work from across markets into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate impact, momentum, and opportunity.  

  • Anticipate client needs by identifying emerging themes (e.g., AI, health, sustainability, culture) and proactively bringing forward relevant, forward-looking solutions.  

  • Champion Edelman’s role as a global strategic partner by seamlessly navigating across practices, geographies, and partner agencies. 

 

Global Orchestration & Connectivity 

  • Act as the central connector across the business, ensuring visibility and alignment across regions, disciplines, and workstreams.  

  • Proactively connect teams, ideas, and opportunities to unlock greater impact and efficiency at a global level.  

  • Maintain a holistic view of activity across markets, identifying patterns, gaps, and opportunities to scale or evolve work.  

  • Establish and lead consistent global rhythms (e.g., updates, reporting, communications) that keep teams informed, aligned, and engaged.  

  • Drive knowledge-sharing and replication of successful ideas, campaigns, and approaches across markets.  

 

Business & Growth Leadership 

  • Drive organic growth by identifying and advancing opportunities that expand Edelman’s scope, capabilities, and value.  

  • Build and maintain a clear, global view of all new business activity (wins, in progress, losses, on pause), using it to identify trends and unlock new opportunities.  

  • Connect related opportunities across markets into larger, integrated scopes that deliver greater strategic value.  

  • Ensure in-progress opportunities are actively tracked, nurtured, and progressed through consistent visibility and follow-through.  

  • Partner with client leaders to deepen relationships and embed Edelman as a long-term growth partner.  

  • Contribute to broader business development efforts, including development of IP, products, and thought leadership.  

 

Integrated Team Leadership 

  • Lead and inspire a globally dispersed team, ensuring seamless integration across regions, disciplines, and partner agencies.  

  • Build a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance that encourages innovation, AI enablement, and bold thinking.  

  • Foster a culture of visibility and recognition by consistently spotlighting great work and team contributions across markets.  

  • Mentor and coach senior leaders and emerging talent, with an emphasis on strategic thinking, advisory skills, and client leadership.  

  • Create clarity and consistency in how teams communicate updates, ensuring inputs are streamlined, actionable, and aligned.  

  • Facilitate direct connections between clients and Edelman’s subject matter experts to deliver best-in-class solutions.  

 

Narrative, Communication & Culture Leadership 

  • Own the development of clear, concise, and engaging global communications that inform, connect, and inspire teams across the business.  

  • Translate complex, multi-market inputs into streamlined, high-impact storytelling that drives clarity and engagement.  

  • Establish and maintain a consistent tone and voice that reflects both professionalism and momentum.  

  • Use storytelling as a strategic tool to reinforce culture, celebrate success, and drive continued performance.  

  • Ensure visibility of key wins, innovation, and progress to both internal and client stakeholders.  

 

Measurement, Impact, and Excellence 

  • Define, measure, and communicate the impact of Edelman’s work against client objectives and business outcomes.  

  • Track and communicate business momentum beyond financials, including innovation, cross-market collaboration, and emerging opportunities.  

  • Leverage reporting cadences to reinforce progress, highlight impact, and identify areas for optimization.  

  • Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practices, insights, and learnings across the global account.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven success as a dynamic, C-suite level counselor with strong global knowledge, ideally within the food & beverage sector. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow global accounts of $10-15M in value. 

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop senior leaders and teams across regions. 

  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills, including experience optimizing budgets and operational efficiency. 

  • Track record of innovation, business growth, and transformational leadership across practices, regions, and inter-agency teams. 

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with polished presence and seasoned presentation abilities. 

  • Proficient in the use of, and deployment of the primary AI models (Chat GPT, Claude and Co-Pilot)  

  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a connector and orchestrator across complex organizations. 

 

Basic Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in communications marketing, integrated marketing, brand, or advertising. Agency and/or client-side experience strongly preferred.

$185,000 to $325,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
