The Global Client Manager, Global Client Group, is a pivotal strategic leader at Amex GBT, reporting to the Director of Client Management and serving as a critical architect of our client relationship strategy. This role demands an exceptional professional who combines sophisticated global business acumen, innovative problem-solving skills, and a data-driven approach to transforming complex travel programs.

Strategic Account Management:

The Global Client Manager will lead innovative account management strategies focused on increasing profitability and deepening client relationships by demonstrating GBT's value proposition, market insights, and consultative sales skills. This role requires an exceptional professional who:

  • Orchestrates cross-functional teams across international regions
  • Drives comprehensive travel program optimization through advanced analytics and operational excellence
  • Leads innovative account management strategies and is focused on increasing profitability
  • Serves as a critical strategic architect for key client relationships

Revenue Growth: Drive non-transactional revenue through proactive identification of new opportunities, developing creative pricing strategies, leading sales efforts, and delivering innovative solutions that contribute value to clients.

Client Engagement: Develop in-depth understanding of client business drivers, conduct executive reviews, negotiate strategic account rebids, and enhance GBT's value proposition through policy consultation, technology roadmapping, and client innovation forums.

Market Intelligence: Research marketplace and competitor products, apply benchmarking and technology as critical value drivers, and synthesize client needs to identify unique and innovative solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with client priorities
  • Lead global travel program management across multiple countries
  • Provide thought leadership and innovative solutions
  • Conduct comprehensive program assessments and benchmarking
  • Drive operational efficiency and cost optimization
  • Deliver strategic consulting and program recommendations

  • 5+ years global account management experience
  • Proven track record in business travel operations
  • Proven consultative selling skills
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for either our Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance, or eligible for one of our metric-driven Sales Incentive Plans (certain sales roles only).  An eligible employee can only participate in one of these plans during an eligible period.  This role is also eligible for awards under the company Equity Incentive Plan, which is designed to align participants' interests with those of shareholders.  For information about our comprehensive US benefits programs and eligibility, please review our Benefits-at-a-Glance document.
