The Global HR Business Partner (GHRBP) plays a key role in supporting Specialized Modalities Cell & Gene Operations (incl. site modalities) function, advising senior SPM PLT leader and their leadership team to drive business strategies through OneHR standard work excellence and driving SPM HR initiatives. This includes aligning with One Lonza’s global people strategies to meet business goals.
The role will focus to one critical business area (may include additional) based on needs and leadership location. The role ensures a platform integrated and future-ready organization by leveraging HR services and centers of expertise, including outsourced partners. It leads transformation initiatives, including reorganizations and change management, and partners closely with business leaders to build high-performing teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful, the GHRBP must develop a deep understanding of the Function’s strategy, business and key success factors. With strong leadership and influence skills, the GHRBP will drive change and contribute to business success while ensure SPM Platform strategic direction and fully aligning and contribution to the SPM People agenda . Key Accountabilities
- Develop and execute people strategies aligned with One Lonza and HR platform objectives to support business growth and performance.
- Serve as a strategic HR advisor, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.
- Partner with senior leadership to align workforce strategies with business priorities and long-term organizational goals.
- Influence and collaborate with executives to drive key people initiatives and secure alignment across the organization.
- Build high-performing teams by enhancing organizational effectiveness, collaboration, communication, and leadership capability.
- Champion the OneLonza and OneHR culture, fostering continuous improvement, partnership, and a unified employee experience.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices while maintaining compliance with global and local employment regulations.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of HR programs, employee engagement initiatives, and leadership development efforts.
- Lead core HR processes, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation reviews, employee engagement, and HR analytics.
- Drive organizational design, cultural transformation, succession planning, and talent development to strengthen business and leadership capabilities.
Key Requirements & Skills
- Proven HR Business Partner and/or COE leadership experience, including management of HRBP or COE teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
- Analytical and results-oriented mindset with experience leveraging HR metrics, KPIs, and workforce analytics to drive decisions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions, best practices, and talent management processes.
- Strong understanding of employment law, labor regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed organizational environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, HR systems, data analysis tools, AI-enabled solutions, and high-volume recruiting environments utilizing RPO partnerships.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, investigative, and employee relations skills, coupled with high integrity, customer focus, and attention to detail.
