Job summary:
As a Junior Analyst on our Global Commodities Team, you will play a key role in supporting our energy sector research and analysis. This full-time, in-office position is ideal for recent graduates eager to collaborate, learn, and contribute to a high-performing team. You'll work closely with senior analysts to model global energy flows, assess market events, and integrate US and global data to develop objective, actionable market views.
Job responsibilities:
  • Support senior analysts in researching and analyzing trends in global energy markets, including oil, natural gas, renewables, and related commodities.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret market data from various sources to identify key developments and opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports, presentations, and market summaries for internal and client use.
  • Monitor news, policy changes, and industry events that impact energy markets.
  • Assist in building and maintaining analytical models and databases.
  • Collaborate with team members across research, sales, and trading to deliver timely insights.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and at least one programming language (such as Python, R, or SQL); familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, in-office environment, often under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic settings and navigating ambiguity, with flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and schedules.
  • Genuine interest in global energy markets and commodities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Prior internship or project experience in energy, commodities, or financial markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Initiative to identify process improvements and contribute to team innovation.
