Role

We’re looking to bring on a Graphics Engineer who will architect and build the graphics systems powering FLORA’s infinite canvas. You will work closely with the founders to invent how creative professionals interact with generative tools on the web. This is a first-principles role: you’ll design, implement, and optimize the real-time rendering layer that makes FLORA’s workflow-oriented creative environment feel fluid, responsive, and magical.

What You’ll Do
As a Graphics Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building the visual and interactive foundation of FLORA’s editor. You’ll work at the intersection of graphics, UX, and creative tooling to create an environment where complex AI workflows feel effortless to explore and manipulate.

A few things you might work on:

  • Architect and optimize our R3F components for performance and responsiveness.

  • Push the boundaries of web graphics — shaders, physics, and animation — to make the FLORA canvas feel alive.

  • Develop intuitive interaction patterns using Three.js and React Three Fiber (R3F).

  • Collaborate closely with design to prototype and ship new visual interaction paradigms for creative professionals.

  • Ensure rendering performance scales smoothly across devices, projects, and collaboration contexts.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with WebGL, Three.js, and React Three Fiber (R3F).

  • Strong graphics programming background — shaders, GPU optimization, rendering pipelines.

  • Familiarity with real-time systems, animation, and interactive visualization.

  • Proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend build systems.

  • Experience building rich, interactive apps with great attention to detail.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with time spent on web based graphics-heavy applications.

Bonus

  • Experience with creative tools, game engines, or node-based visual editors.

  • Background in computer graphics, HCI, or creative coding.

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and multi-modal workflows.

Stack

We’re a React + Next.js + TypeScript app with a real-time collaboration layer.
Our graphics foundation is built on WebGL, Three.js, and React Three Fiber, with backend infrastructure powered by Modal and Convex.
