About Treeswift

In the face of rising threats, increasing pressure on affordability, and unprecedented demand for power, Treeswift empowers energy companies to modernize their field work to meet the growth and challenges ahead.

We build physical AI for the field worker: whether on foot or in a vehicle, our technology is an ironman suit for engineers, linemen, and vegetation crews: same worker, same boots on the ground, now operating at 10x productivity. Our platform is powered by cutting edge hardware, sensors (LiDAR, camera, etc…), AI and software designed to revolutionize work in the toughest environments.

Our technology has enabled our customers to reduce wildfire risk, regulatory and outage risk from vegetation, avoid delays and cost overruns in new construction, and accelerate recovery from severe storms.

We are headquartered in midtown Manhattan, with additional offices in San Francisco and Philadelphia.

The Position:

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Hardware Assembly Technician to help build, assemble, and test our hardware systems at our Midtown Manhattan facility.

You'll work directly with our engineering team, assembling real products that combine LiDAR, cameras, sensors, electronics, and mechanical components. You'll also support our engineers with CAD modeling, modifying mechanical designs, and preparing parts for fabrication and assembly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is comfortable with CAD software, and takes pride in precise, high-quality work. You'll split your time between designing and modifying components on a computer and physically building and testing the hardware.

You don't need an engineering degree or years of experience. What matters most is that you're dependable, careful, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn. If you like working with your hands and want to help build real-world technology, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

  • Assemble hardware systems using mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, including sensors, cameras, LiDAR, and power systems.

  • Create and modify 3D CAD models of mechanical parts, mounts, brackets, enclosures, and assemblies using software such as Onshape.

  • Work with engineers to make CAD revisions, update designs, and prepare parts for 3D printing or fabrication.

  • Follow assembly instructions, technical documentation, and build checklists to ensure consistent quality.

  • Install, mount, connect, and secure components using hand tools and basic power tools.

  • Inspect and test completed assemblies to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and verify functionality.

  • Work closely with engineers to resolve assembly challenges and improve build processes.

  • Help organize components, tools, and workstations to keep production running smoothly.

  • Take ownership of your builds and ensure each system meets our quality standards before deployment.

Who You Are:

  • You enjoy hands-on work and have a natural aptitude for building, assembling, or fixing things.

  • You're comfortable working in CAD. You have practical experience creating and modifying 3D models using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or similar software.

  • You're detail-oriented, patient, and take pride in getting things right, whether you're working on a CAD model or assembling hardware.

  • You're comfortable using basic hand tools and following step-by-step instructions.

  • You're reliable, organized, and able to work independently once trained.

  • You're comfortable asking questions and flagging problems when something doesn't look right.

  • You can work on-site at our Midtown Manhattan location.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Electronics assembly, wiring, soldering, or electromechanical systems.

  • Building computers, robots, drones, or other hardware projects.

  • 3D printing or mechanical prototyping.

  • Creating technical drawings or working with mechanical tolerances.

  • Manufacturing, quality control, or hardware testing.

  • Technical school, engineering coursework, maker projects, or similar hands-on hobbies.

  • Previous professional hardware assembly experience is a plus, but not required
