Our Promise

We know it’s hard out there, so we’re being clear: this is a real role, hiring right now. We have a high bar, but this is a priority hire, so bring your best.

What We Need

Are you using multi-agent orchestration to build, test, and ship working software at exceptional speed? We need a hands-on engineer who wields AI agents as an extension of a rock-solid engineering foundation. If you can decompose complex work across agents, evaluate their output at code depth, and rapidly turn business requirements into reliable working prototypes, keep reading.

Who We Are & What We’re Doing

Quility is a modern Insurtech company transforming how life insurance and financial wellness solutions are designed, delivered, and experienced. By blending advanced technology, data-driven insights, and a human-first approach, we empower agents and partners to offer streamlined, fully digital insurance experiences at scale. With thousands of independent agents nationwide and a growing suite of proprietary platforms and products, we are redefining the future of insurance distribution. Our corporate team drives innovation across every touchpoint, enabling families across America to access the protection and peace of mind they deserve. At Quility, we’re not just keeping up with industry change, we’re leading it.

Now, we're founding a lean AI-centric Innovation Office inside our established, well-capitalized Insurtech company. The mandate is razor-sharp: take real business problems, quickly build working MVPs using LLMs and AI-native tooling (Cursor, Claude, Codex), iterate to determine whether they move the needle, and hand validated wins to our core Product team. You’ll be the primary builder, armed with executive air cover and budget.

---

THE SETUP

The Innovation Office: The Innovation Office is a purpose-built execution unit inside Quility's enterprise structure. We exist to do what the Product team doesn’t: move fast on unvalidated ideas without touching the core platform. We're R&D. We build internal tools or time-boxed, hypothesis-driven prototypes, test unit economics in the real world, and hand validated winners to Product as de-risked business cases.

The Team: You will work alongside the Chief Transformation Officer and Head of Innovation (business-focused, build-capable). You will also collaborate closely with two data scientists. Direct management responsibility of the data science team may be considered based on the selected candidate’s background but is not central to the role.

Your Mandate: You are the technical engine. Partnering with the Head of Innovation, you will refine business requirements, construct the technical plan, and execute, producing internal tools or MVP pilots fast and affordably.

The Governance: Direction is set in close partnership with the Chief Transformation Officer and Head of Innovation, with a lean monthly Advisory Board review. There are limited sprint-planning rituals, ticket queues, or SDLC gates (unless you help decide to put them there).

The Honest Part: Our data infrastructure is real-world messy. Some of your early work will involve extracting signal from imperfect inputs.

---

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

The problems are real and the stakes are commercial. Here's a sample of the territory:

  • An agent onboarding workflow that takes days and involves too many manual handoffs. What if it took hours?
  • AI-assisted new agent training, aimed to get agents productive faster, keep them engaged, and reduce time to value.
  • Agents close some calls and lose others for reasons that are rarely documented. What if an AI layer could identify the patterns and turn them into a coaching tool to actually move close rates?

These are illustrative, not exhaustive. The backlog is live and you'll help shape it.

---

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and ship. You are the technical lead. You personally write, deploy, and iterate working software, not specs for others to build. You are fluent in AI-native tooling and use multi-agent orchestration as a force multiplier. You translate requirements into granular, executable instructions for AI agents, then review, test, and refine the resulting code.

Where the Head of Innovation owns business discovery, opportunity sizing, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment, you own technical discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, and iteration. Together, you will convert validated business requirements into tightly scoped experiments and decide what technical evidence is needed to advance, redirect, or stop each effort.

---

SUCCESS METRICS

Success is measured by how quickly and reliably you turn validated business requirements into working software; the quality of your technical decisions; the speed and rigor of experimentation; and your ability to generate credible evidence for advancing, redirecting, or stopping an effort. Ultimately, the Innovation Office succeeds through validated decisions and measurable impact on OPEX and revenue.

---

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You’re a Lead Applied AI Engineer who has remained deeply hands-on while advancing with the cutting edge of LLM-assisted development. You bring real engineering depth. AI agents amplify your judgment; they do not replace it. You know when agent-generated code is sound, when it is fragile, and when the fastest path is to write the critical parts yourself.

You have recent experience independently building and deploying full-stack applications, integrating external APIs and data sources, and operating software in a cloud environment. Deep experience in a specific stack matters less than demonstrated ability to make sound architectural decisions and learn quickly.

You have shipped quickly in a lean environment as the primary or sole builder, using multi-agent orchestration and LLM-assisted coding to increase your development velocity. To apply, provide at least one example of software you personally built and shipped. This may be a live product, repository, technical walkthrough, or private demonstration. Be prepared to explain your individual contribution, architecture decisions, agentic development workflow, deployment approach, and what you changed after observing the system in real-world use.

Bonus: Data science expertise and/or knowledge of the insurance industry

On the other hand, this role is not:

  • A "lead the team that builds" role. The team is lean. You build.
  • A research or advisory role. Your output is working software and validated decisions, not slide decks.

THE OFFER

On-Target Earnings: $230,000 ($200,000 base salary + 15% annual corporate bonus target)

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) match, and much more!

Location: Fully remote. We care about what you ship, not where you ship it from.

This is a rare configuration: executive air cover, a dedicated sandbox, and explicit permission to move fast and kill what doesn’t work. For the right operator, this is an opportunity to build a defining track record in applied AI transformation and the kind of portfolio that travels.

THE COMPANY

Quility is an insurance carrier-backed Insurtech at the intersection of large-scale insurance distribution and modern technology. We operate one of the country's largest independent agent networks, supported by a proprietary lead generation marketplace and a growing B2B software platform. We are profitable, well-capitalized, and in the middle of a deliberate enterprise modernization, which is why we're founding this Innovation Office.
