About the Role
We are seeking a Head Architect to serve as the primary visionary and technical authority for our entire application ecosystem. This is a hands-on role for a proactive expert who views software architecture as a foundational strategic asset and treats security not as a feature, but as a core requirement of every design decision. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, you will own the critical intersection of system design, security, and business scalability, driving the continuous modernization and hardening of our platforms at every layer.
In this role, you will lead the architectural direction at ClassWallet through direct technical contribution and high-level design. Your primary responsibility is to serve as the technical future-proofer of the organization, possessing the foresight to anticipate emerging business needs and designing architectures today that remain secure, robust, and adaptable for the challenges of tomorrow.
Requirements
The ideal candidate thrives in high-stakes environments and possesses a deeply proactive engineer mindset.
Security-First Mindset: A security by design approach to every task, ensuring that data protection, identity management, and threat modeling are integrated into the architectural DNA of the platform.
Strategic Foresight: Proven ability to anticipate future business scaling needs and technological trends, designing modular systems that prevent technical debt and allow for long-term flexibility.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to mentor fellow architects and influence engineering teams. You will serve as a key partner to DevOps, Product, and Tech Leads, driving technical excellence and collaboration in executing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Advanced Node.js Architecture:
Core Mastery: Deep understanding of the Node.js event-driven, non-blocking I/O model and the internal mechanics of the Event Loop to handle concurrent requests efficiently.
Design Patterns: Mastery of architectural patterns such as Microservices and Event Sourcing to ensure independent service scalability and resilience.
Database Design: Extensive experience with both relational and document-based database table design, specifically including MySQL and MongoDB. You should be adept at choosing the right data model for the specific use case, ensuring performance and data integrity.
Cloud & Infrastructure: Expert-level proficiency in AWS environments and GitHub for version control and CI/CD integration.
Documentation & Visualization: Proven ability to create and maintain stringent, audit-ready documentation and detailed architectural diagrams (e.g., ERDs and Sequence diagrams).
Key Performance Goals
Platform Modernization & Future-Proofing: Continue to evolve the application stack into a modern, resilient platform that prioritizes security and governance. You will implement non-complex solutions that scale, ensuring our infrastructure remains robust to anticipate emerging business needs years in advance.
Collaborative Architectural Leadership: Serve as a high-impact architectural partner across the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the platform remains the primary driver of informed, secure business decisions.
Reliability as a Gold Standard: Position ClassWallet’s technical integrity and security posture as a market differentiator.
