Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, Americas, this role will be a core member of the communications team responsible for driving group-level external affairs while serving as a dedicated partner to Marex's Capital Markets and Clearing businesses in the Americas.

While the role will contribute across the breadth of Marex's platform, its primary focus will be supporting the growth and strategic priorities of the Capital Markets and Clearing franchises, helping articulate Marex's differentiated offering the businesses.

Anchored in communications — media relations, narrative development, executive positioning, and external affairs — the successful candidate will be encouraged to identify opportunities to add value across the business. Where communications intersects with marketing, business development, investor relations, or stakeholder engagement, this person can and should be involved.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the communications lead for Marex's Capital Markets and Clearing businesses in the Americas, developing proactive media, content, and thought leadership strategies aligned with commercial priorities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Marex's hedge fund and asset management audience and the products that we serve them. Develop coordinated campaigns and strategies that bring together our services and asset classes in collaboration with teams across the business to increase our penetration and awareness within this important customer segment.
  • Partner closely with business leadership to identify opportunities to showcase growth, product innovation, client activity, and market commentary.
  • Lead communications around strategic business milestones including product launches, financing and clearing innovations, exchange initiatives, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and significant client transactions.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team on integrated campaigns that span communications and brand — including events, digital presence, and thought leadership programmes
  • Identify and develop new initiatives where we can drive commercial or reputational value — and bring those ideas forward with a clear rationale
  • Represent Marex at industry events, conferences, and client forums as appropriate, building relationships that serve both visibility and business objectives
  • Support the development of processes, templates, and operating rhythms that allow the communications function to scale efficiently as the firm grows
  • Support the MD, Communications & Marketing in the day-to-day delivery of group-wide external communications, including media relations, corporate announcements, and executive messaging
  • Help develop and maintain the firm's overarching corporate narrative across products and services— ensuring consistency across all external touchpoints including press, digital, and investor-facing content
  • Draft and edit external materials including press releases, executive briefings, Q&A documents, talking points, and thought leadership content
  • Manage and develop relationships with financial media, trade press, and broadcast contacts relevant to Marex's core markets
  • Monitor the external landscape — competitor activity, media coverage, industry trends — and bring relevant intelligence to the team proactively
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a crisis communications framework, ensuring the firm can respond rapidly and credibly when issues arise
  • Monitor reputational risk and advise the team on emerging issues before they escalate
  • All employees are expected to understand and comply with any Sarbanes Oxley operational requirements relevant to their role.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, external affairs, media relations, or a closely related discipline
  • Background in financial services communications with experience supporting capital markets, prime brokerage, financing, clearing, exchanges, or related institutional market businesses strongly preferred.,
  • Demonstrated ability to manage media relationships and develop external narratives for complex financial businesses
  • Experience advising or supporting senior executives on positioning, messaging, and public engagement
  • Comfortable operating across both strategic and executional work — this role involves both
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on clarity, precision, and audience awareness
  • Entrepreneurial instinct and comfort in a fast-growing, evolving environment where the function is still being built
  • Ability to work across functions — legal, compliance, capital markets, IR, marketing — with credibility and low friction
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this

  • Ability to embed with front-office teams and develop credibility with business leaders, sales teams, and product specialists.
  • Strong command of external messaging across formats — media, executive comms, thought leadership, and crisis
  • Ability to move between big-picture narrative and individual project execution without losing sight of either
  • Genuine interest in the breadth of Marex's business and a desire to understand what each team does and how communications can serve it
  • Skilled at building relationships internally and externally, with the judgment to know when and how to engage
  • Understanding of how communications creates real business value — in reputation, relationships, and pipeline
  • A team player who makes the function better, not just their own work better

Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000 per year and eligible for discretionary bonus.
