About Qualitate

Qualitate is building the AI-native primary intelligence platform for enterprises, investment firms, and asset managers. We automate the entire primary research workflow, from study design and expert recruitment through AI-moderated interviews and insight synthesis - replacing weeks of manual research with hours of high-signal output.

Expert research is a broken industry dominated by legacy incumbents with expensive, manual, and slow services. Investment and corporate strategy teams spend hundreds of hours coordinating intermediaries, scheduling expert calls, and synthesizing insights across fragmented providers. The process takes weeks to produce short-lived intelligence.

Qualitate transforms this workflow by autonomously conducting expert discussions at scale using AI. Qualitate’s AI Moderator interviews thousands of experts simultaneously each month, capturing forward-looking purchasing plans, competitive displacement, and real-time ROI signals. The platform turns these interviews into quantified, time-series outputs tracking over 10,000 public and private companies, queryable instantly in natural language.

Our customers include some of the world’s largest enterprises, hedge funds, PE firms, credit investors, and venture capital firms. We’re growing fast, and this is the first dedicated compliance hire at Qualitate.

The Role

You’ll own compliance from day one: scaling the systems, controls, and training that allow Qualitate to scale safely across our financial services and corporate customer base. You’ll be the company’s authority on the rules that govern expert engagement, and the controls our most sophisticated clients depend on. You'll partner directly with sales, product, and engineering to embed compliance into how the company sells, builds, and delivers. The right person for this role moves with the urgency of an early-stage company while bringing the compliance rigor expected by the world’s most sophisticated enterprises and investment firms. The role reports directly to the CEO.

What the day-to-day looks like:
  • Compliance program ownership. Manage Qualitate’s compliance requirements end-to-end and ensure that the company is meeting them across every customer engagement and internal process. Own the Qualitate Trust Portal, our security certifications and audits (e.g., SOC 2), and our data privacy practices — including expert consent and data handling across AI-moderated interviews.

  • Expert vetting and MNPI safeguards. Scale the protocols that govern how experts are screened, engaged, and compensated.

  • Governance and records. Assist with corporate governance and maintain the company’s legal records, policies, and contractual obligations as the source of truth.

  • Customer delivery. Work directly with our customers to ensure we deliver against their compliance expectations, including verbal and written communications with prospective and existing clients.

  • Sales enablement. Provide day-to-day compliance advice to our sales team and deliver training to client-interfacing employees so they can sell and service customers confidently.

  • Controls in our systems. Implement compliance protocols across our internal systems, conduct compliance portal overviews for prospective and existing clients, and collaborate with our product and tech teams to design compliance controls directly into the product.

  • Contracts. Own the contract process: maintain our templates and standard terms, track obligations across client types, flag the redlines that matter, and coordinate with our legal team as the company grows and ships new products.

Who This Role Is For
  • At least 4–8 years in compliance or legal operations. You’ve owned or supported the compliance function at an investment bank, investment firm, or technology startup.

  • Knowledge of the financial industry and due diligence. You understand how investment firms, banks, and credit investors think about compliance risk and due diligence, and you know how to meet them where they are.

  • Cross-functional range. You can advise a sales rep on a customer call on Monday and partner with engineers on a controls design on Wednesday.

  • Communication as a craft. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Operator mindset. You think about compliance as a system, not just a set of policies. You build the workflows, controls, and reporting that let the business move faster, not slower.

  • Proactive and self-motivated. You communicate proactively, flag problems early, and don’t need to be managed closely.

What Sets You Apart
  • Prior experience implementing a compliance program at a technology startup serving financial services firms.

  • Compliance experience at an expert network or primary research provider, including expert vetting and MNPI protocols.

  • Experience in the public sector, including at government regulatory bodies such as the SEC.

  • Experience leading client-facing compliance portal overviews and answering due diligence questionnaires from sophisticated investors.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Bonus if you have a law degree.

  • Bonus if you have prior experience working with hedge funds, PE firms, or credit investors as customers or counterparties.

  • Bonus if you have experience designing compliance controls directly into a software product alongside engineering teams.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $180K–$280K depending on experience.

  • Equity: Meaningful early-stage grant with upside tied to company growth.

  • Benefits: Health coverage, flexible PTO, paid holidays.

  • Location: Full-time, in-person in New York City.

What to expect working at Qualitate
  • Excellence. You’ll be held accountable to an exceptionally high bar and impact

  • High velocity. Fast paced work environment in terms of growth, decision making, and time to impact

  • High agency. Ownership over how you work, not just what you work on. We hire people we trust to figure it out.

  • A builder’s mindset. You'll create the processes, playbooks, and systems that define how this company scales.

  • Shared ambition. A small, early team disrupting the multi-billion dollar market research industry with AI.

  • Joy. We work hard and genuinely enjoy working with each other. Dedication to our work is matched only by our passion for fostering an enjoyable, collaborative work environment.
