About The RoleWe're hiring a Head of Compliance to design and own Whop's compliance program across all business lines. You'll own regulatory strategy and operational compliance across our payments platform and marketplace — from AML/KYC to trust & safety and privacy. You'll work closely with Product, Payments, and Leadership to build compliance into our business. This role will be part of our Legal, Compliance and Risk function.
Scope- Design, build, and scale Whop's overall compliance program
- Own AML/KYC, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring programs
- Manage trust & safety frameworks, prohibited products policies, and merchant underwriting
- Manage privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Ensure new features (including crypto/stablecoin) are compliant by design
- 7+ years in compliance, AML/KYC, or regulatory affairs at payments/fintech/marketplace companies
- Comfortable with regulatory ambiguity — you can translate unclear rules into defensible positions
- Strong with numbers, metrics, and operational details
- High agency, builder mindset, good partner
- Exposure to crypto/stablecoins is a plus
