To achieve our lofty goals, we are seeking a seasoned Head of Field Infrastructure to build and lead a world-class infrastructure deployment and operations team.

 

As Head of Field Infrastructure, you will lead a team focused on designing, building and operating the infrastructure for our products including LinkNYC (the world’s largest and fastest public wifi project replacing public telephone’s in NYC), LinkUK, MTA On The Go and other transit solutions that are changing the lives of millions of people every day.

The Head of Field Infrastructure is a key role and is integral to the success of current and future deployments. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for managing over $100M of capital projects.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the Field Infrastructure organization, responsible for:
    • Infrastructure Deployment
    • Field Operations
    • Digital Field Operations
  • Be accountable for the successful ongoing operation of all Intersection field infrastructure
  • Guide and manage planned and future infrastructure deployments to meet requirements
  • Build teams to effectively scale the organization to align with Intersection growth
  • Develop and standardize operational processes, controls, tools and procedures to reduce process variation at our operating locations leading to improved effectiveness, client experience, team member engagement, and efficiency
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop technology strategies, advance new business opportunities, prioritize initiatives and manage expectations
  • Act in a stakeholder and advisory capacity with internal product teams to identify and implement innovative solutions to address infrastructure challenges and emerging needs.
  • Identify key vendors and partners necessary to scale efficiently and mitigate risks
  • Guide the design, planning and implementation of necessary civil construction activities
  • Manage department budget and project capex budgets

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years deploying wireless infrastructure projects in urban environments
  • Expertise in a number of network technology concepts, including:
    • OSP Fiber Design and deployment
    • Power delivery to street furniture
    • Small Cell Networks/DAS
    • Tower and Pole Top radio solutions
  • Ability to oversee a portfolio of multiple projects
  • Experience with utility construction projects and municipal permitting agencies and processes
  • Extensive capital planning and budget management
  • Ability to develop and lead a team of key stakeholders
  • An advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Position is headquartered in NY, must be eligible for global travel
