The Role:

The Fund Financing business at Piermont provides innovative fund-level financing in the form of capital call / subscription facilities collateralized by the uncalled capital of a fund's limited partners. The business forms an integral part of Piermont Bank’s Innovation Banking, where the bank focus on serving the fintech ecosystem.  As the Fund Financing Relationship Manager you will be a cornerstone of this group, handling already established relationships while growing new relationships across the space. 

Responsibilities:

  • Set the strategic direction for the Fund Financing business, including market positioning, product evolution, and long‑term growth initiatives.
  • Drive origination efforts across private equity, venture capital, private credit, and other alternative investment managers.
  • Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key clients, prospects, sponsors, and industry partners.
  • Represent Piermont Bank in the fund finance market, including conferences, industry groups, and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee the structuring, negotiation, and approval of all Fund Financing facilities, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and profitability targets.
  • Provide senior credit leadership, including review and approval of consolidated credit packages, portfolio reporting, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure rigorous evaluation of the credit and financial impact of business decisions, including pricing, capital allocation, and portfolio strategy.
  • Maintain strong oversight of portfolio performance, concentration risks, and market trends.
  • Partner closely with Innovation Banking leadership, Credit, Risk, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure seamless execution and governance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, client‑centricity, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and controls that support safe, sound, and scalable growth of the Fund Financing business.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and internal risk frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, credit-related field.
  • Ten plus years' relevant work experience (e.g., lending, underwriting, credit, portfolio management) and a strong fundamental understanding fund finance.
  • Origination track record preferred.
  • A strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial analysis and the principles of secured lending.
  • Transaction and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and customers. Must be able to effectively articulate views both within the Bank and externally in the marketplace.
  • Ability to form effective client relationships.
  • Established credit, industrial, and risk acumen.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands.

The total compensation range for this position is $450,000 to $600,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
