The Delivery Enablement (DE) team you would be joining powers Portage Point’s growth as a lean, operationally-oriented backbone. Including Finance & Accounting, Coverage, Data Analytics, Delivery Excellence, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Talent Acquisition; our team drives excellence and efficiency across every practice line.

The Head of Human Capital Management (HCM) at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead and evolve the firm’s people, talent acquisition and administrative operations functions within a fast-paced, sponsor-backed and technology-led environment. This leader will be responsible for creating and executing human resources strategy, partnering with business leadership to create a highly engaged, motivated and skilled workforce, managing tactical HR and overseeing learning and development. The Head of HCM will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and manage junior human resources, learning and development, talent acquisition, executive assistant and office management team members. The Head of HCM should be prepared to work within a lean, collaborative team environment and manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational workstreams.

Responsibilities

    • Design and implement human resources (HR) strategy including executing strategic initiatives such as creating cross-border talent development programs, launching an inaugural culture and engagement survey and maturing headcount planning efforts
    • Implement and continuously improve firm wide performance management including but not limited to competency models, career pathing, performance management system management, review coordination and bi-annual performance calibration management
    • Continuously improve firm wide learning and development programs in partnership with learning and development team members including but not limited to learning roadmap development and execution, learning design and facilitation, vendor coordination and learning management system management
    • Administer total rewards programs including but not limited to managing benefits broker relationships, leading annual benefits review, administering benefits education programs and enrollment, supporting retirement savings program administration, conducting competitor analysis and ensuring Portage Point continues to deliver a market leading total rewards program
    • Lead firmwide talent acquisition strategy and execution including workforce planning, recruiting operations, candidate experience, executive search coordination and recruitment analytics
    • Drive AI-enabled and automated HCM and administrative operations including workflow optimization, reporting automation, talent analytics and scalable people processes
    • Develop operational KPIs, dashboards and analytics across HR, recruiting and administrative functions
    • Leading culture and engagement initiative design and implementation
    • Support workforce planning and organizational design efforts
    • Implement and continuously improve firm wide employee onboarding and offboarding
    • Support FINRA registered representative broker dealer compliance
    • Respond to ad hoc human resources requests
    • Conduct HR compliance research, identify areas of risk and implement solutions
    • Liaise with external employment counsel as needed
    • Provide professional development coaching to junior team members
    • Lead talent acquisition and firm-building initiatives
    • Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
    • Located in or willing to relocate to New York
    • Invested in a team-based culture motivated to collaborate in office four days per week
    • 15 plus years of HR experience within high-growth professional services, financial services, investment banking and / or private equity-backed environments, including at least 10 years’ experience in HR business partner or strategic HR role
    • Knowledge of state and federal employment / labor laws and statutes, including but not limited to OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII and other DOL regulations preferred
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
    • Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
    • High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
    • Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
