Why this role exists
AngelList is building the financial infrastructure for private markets. As the platform grows, traditional compliance approaches don't scale. Static policies and manual checklists cannot keep pace with complex software systems.
We are hiring a technical builder to design and implement automated assurance systems — tools and agentic systems that continuously verifies that our platform behaves as intended.
Instead of writing policies, you will build systems that test systems.
This role sits at the intersection of:
software engineering
financial regulation
systems reliability
AI-driven automation
If you enjoy building testing infrastructure, verification frameworks, and intelligent monitoring systems, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Build assurance systems:
- User modern tools to design and implement automated systems that continuously test core platform controls.
- Examples: Automated verification of compliance logic, monitoring systems that detect control failures in real time; AI agents that probe platform behavior.
- Build testing infrastructure:
- Create infrastructure similar to reliability engineering, but applied to financial controls.
- Examples: Control test harnesses; event-driven monitoring pipelines; automated audit trails; platform-wide observability for regulatory controls
- Work directly with engineering:
- You will partner closely with product, engineering, and legal to to ensure controls are enforced in code, not policy documents.
- Replace manual audits with continuous verification:
- The goal is to move AngelList from manual compliance reviews to continuous automated assurance.
