WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US

The Head of Operations & Accounting is a senior executive leadership role responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of SimCorp's post-trade and accounting product portfolio — the operational backbone that institutional investors depend on for mission-critical processing, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.

As investment operations face mounting pressure from shortened settlement cycles, expanding regulatory frameworks, and complex multi-asset portfolios, clients require integrated solutions that deliver real-time visibility, automation at scale, and confidence in their books and records. This role shapes the strategic vision, market positioning, and execution excellence across post-trade processing, reconciliation, corporate actions, settlement, fund accounting, investment accounting, and our managed services offerings — ensuring SimCorp remains the institutional-grade standard for operational excellence.

As a member of the Product executive leadership team, you partner with Engineering, Sales, Client Success, and Service Delivery to translate operational realities into scalable solutions that drive client retention, expand wallet share, and open new revenue streams through managed services. You represent SimCorp's Operations & Accounting vision to institutional clients and industry leaders — positioning SimCorp at the center of the buy-side's operational transformation.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Product Strategy & Market Leadership

  • You define and own the strategic vision for Operations & Accounting, including ABOR/IBOR integration, regulatory coverage across 70+ frameworks, and managed services expansion — positioning SimCorp as the definitive platform for post-trade excellence.
  • You identify market opportunities driven by T+1 settlement, regulatory evolution, and client demand for operational outsourcing, translating these into a prioritized roadmap that extends our competitive moat.
     

Product Execution & Operational Excellence

  • You drive exceptional product and service delivery, ensuring STP rates, settlement performance, and accounting close times meet institutional standards while continuously improving automation and efficiency.
  • You establish execution discipline across product releases and service enhancements, balancing innovation velocity against the reliability clients demand for regulated, auditable processes.
     

Customer Insight & External Engagement

  • You maintain strategic relationships with key institutional clients, translating their operational challenges into product priorities and ensuring our roadmap reflects competitive threats and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • You represent SimCorp's Operations & Accounting vision to institutional clients, prospects, and industry forums — establishing thought leadership in post-trade transformation and managed services.
     

Leading & Influencing People

  • You build and scale a world-class Operations & Accounting PM organization, establishing hiring standards that prioritize domain expertise in post-trade processing, accounting frameworks, and service delivery excellence.
  • You operate as an extension of the executive team, providing strategic counsel on operational infrastructure investments and managed services expansion across SimCorp.

WHAT WE VALUE

Domain Expertise & Market Knowledge

  • 15+ years of experience in product leadership for institutional investment platforms, with demonstrated expertise in post-trade operations, fund/investment accounting, or managed services at scale.
  • Deep understanding of settlement workflows, regulatory accounting frameworks, reconciliation processes, and the competitive landscape across operations technology and BPO providers.

Product Leadership & Execution Excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to lead product and service organizations delivering mission-critical infrastructure where accuracy, auditability, and uptime are non-negotiable.
  • Track record building and scaling solutions that drive measurable client outcomes — reduced operational risk, faster close cycles, and successful managed services adoption.

Strategic Communication & Executive Influence

  • Effective communication skills presenting operational strategy to C-suite executives, institutional clients, and regulatory stakeholders with clarity and conviction.
  • Ability to articulate the strategic value of operational excellence and managed services adoption, building consensus across product, engineering, and commercial teams.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $258.000 – $387.000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
