Position Summary:

O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM) is hiring a Head of Performance and Risk Management Analytics to join the team.

The position location will ideally be Stamford, CT, or New York City with a hybrid work schedule available.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Head of Performance and Risk Management & Analytics?

The Head of Risk & Performance Analytics will bring enhanced focus and resources to the daily management of the risk and performance teams. This role, which while managing teams will also be an active direct contributor, is essential as our business expands, introducing new products and features, and refining our analytics to benefit both management and clients.

The person in this role will:

  • Oversee the following Custom Client Solutions (CCS) and OSAM departments:

    • Performance Management (OSAM)

    • Risk (CCS)

    • Analytics (CCS)

  • Support the CCS leadership team on strategic initiatives and reporting

  • Lead and cultivate teams, including direct reports for the named functions

  • Effectively collaborate with department leads to drive daily, monthly, quarterly operations of the respective teams as well as key strategic initiatives

  • Evolve our performance reporting business processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly/quarterly completion of updates, continually enhance our tax alpha methodologies and processes, provide additional value add analytics to our clients

  • Oversee the ongoing institutionalization and continued build out of risk functions for effective monitoring, escalation and resolution of risks

    • Additional dashboards for business monitoring

    • BCP/DR planning

    • Business process documentation

    • Quantitative analysis

  • Partner with leaders across the organization, including Sales, Product, Technology to establish agenda, coordinate activities and deliver results

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • 15+ years of investment industry experience

  • Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills

  • Experience and expertise with GIPS reporting standards; experience with tax alpha and non-traditional performance analytics a plus

  • History with dashboards/business metrics and risk reporting

  • Experience with tax implications in portfolio management/reporting a plus

  • Coding skills a plus (C#, SQL, Python)

  • CFA charter holder preferred

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $198,000-$235,000.
