Job Description

Position Overview: The role combines management responsibility for the editorial teams covering public Credit markets in the U.S. (including Structured Products), with additional responsibility for leading IGM’s new media engagement via establishing a podcast product and taking part in conferences and events (incl. panel discussions).

This role will promote focus on key challenges in today’s marketplace for hybrid news, analysis, graphics and media: independent near real-time sourcing; editorial uniformity and consistency; multi distribution channels; oversight of a flexible team of specialists; a confident, introduction and leadership of innovative approaches designed to increase touchpoints with the marketplace and raise IGM’s profile.

The successful candidate is expected to quickly organise the regional team to ensure adherence to day-to-day responsibilities while critically assessing the current coverage and resources available.

The role holder will possess keen understanding of modern hybrid information requirements derived from relevant experience writing near real-time analysis for a subscription screen or wire service. Direct industry experience is a bonus. Leadership and analytical skills, a deep understanding of the global Credit and adjacent financial markets, and above all a desire to tackle challenges in a positive manner are all prerequisites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Work with the Head of Markets Coverage, broader SLT and commercial leadership team to help develop and implement the strategic vision for the global and regional IGM Credit product.
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for team members within a clear and unambiguous structure. Specifically, lead the team to build and maintain productive relationships with syndicate desks and key stakeholders across the capital markets.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
    • Be prepared to make decisions and see through to implementation. This may impact team structure and/or individual colleagues.
    • Provide actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Markets Focus:
    • It is a critical success factor for this role that the holder focus coverage around “must have” vs. “nice to have” features, establishing sufficient contact with a broad range of current and target subscribers and practitioners to assess this.
    • Through rigorous quality control processes ensure that accuracy and integrity of coverage is always central.
    • Create and lead a new suite of industry-leading podcast, vlog and other digital engagement products focused on thematic and topical insights pertinent to Corporate Bonds, Structured Finance and Capital Markets.
    • Take an active (speaking) role in Informa Connect Global Finance events and conferences.
  • Teamwork:
    • Work positively with all stakeholders, including sales, data, IT, product, content, marketing, digital and senior management.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Monitor market conditions and provide regular insights to optimise content.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct thorough analysis to identify trends and opportunities in addressable markets.
    • Develop differentiating content for a discerning audience of professionals.
    • Add a thematic appreciation of developing Capital Markets trends.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and other events.
    • Act as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in directly relevant roles as outlined above.
  • Proven track record writing and analysing financial markets in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of global Credit (incl. Structured and Loan) markets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and data management tools.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $180,000.00- $210,000.00 based on experience.
