Own the core database and degree audit system for a higher education technology platform. Set product direction for a squad of 4–6 engineers, provide technical expertise on data modeling and system connections, prioritize delivery, lead discovery, document requirements, and drive user acceptance testing while partnering with implementation, integration, and customer success teams.
A Series A higher education technology company is looking for a Technical Product Manager to own one of its most important technologies: the core database and degree audit system at the center of its platform. You'll set direction for a squad of 4–6 engineers, serving as the technical expert on how the system is modeled, built, and connected to the rest of the business, while partnering directly with implementation, integration, and customer success teams. This individual-contributor role suits a self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills — someone who sets priorities and drives delivery proactively rather than waiting for requests.
If you have…
- Hands-on product experience building or managing a degree audit system (for example, Degree Works, CourseLeaf, Coursedog, or similar)
- Strong technical understanding of data systems, data models, and databases
- Higher education domain knowledge — course catalogs, catalog years, effective dates, and how curriculum is built and managed
- Experience working in a squad or cross-functional team model, including leading discovery, writing documentation and requirements, and driving user acceptance testing
We look forward to hearing from you!
