We are seeking a seasoned HR Director with 10+ years of progressive experience to lead and support a broad range of human resources functions, with a strong emphasis on Learning and Development (L&D). This individual will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance employee performance, engagement, and organizational capability, while also supporting key HR generalist responsibilities such as talent management, employee relations, and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities, include:

Learning & Development (Primary Focus – 50%):

  • Design and deliver engaging, scalable L&D programs aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct training needs assessments; identify skills gaps across departments.
  • Develop curriculum, training materials, and e-learning solutions as needed.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions across leadership, DE&I, compliance, systems, and soft skills.
  • Implement metrics to measure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Partner with department heads to support role-specific development initiatives.
  • Manage external training vendors and budgets.
  • Consistently role model Moda company values.

HR Generalist Functions (Supporting – 50%):

  • Provide day-to-day HR support across all employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, ensuring HR policies are understood and consistently applied.
  • Support talent review and succession planning processes.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Partner with leadership on culture, engagement, and retention strategies.

Qualifications/Ideal Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong background in learning and development.
  • Proven track record of creating and delivering effective L&D programs.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and change management.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS, LMS platforms, and digital learning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to measure learning impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional HR, Learning, and/or Facilitation certifications a plus (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR; ATD, APTD, CPTD,  CLDP,  CLS, CPTM…)

Job Type: Full-time; hybrid role 1-2 days a week in the office; NYC based (Industry City Brooklyn office space)

Salary: $130,000 - $175,000 per hour + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
