Job Description

Hyperscience is looking for its first Director of HR Business Partners to join our People team. The Director of HR Business Partners will build and lead the function that ensures every employee has a meaningful work experience and is engaged, happy, and comfortable in their work environment. She/he will own employee experience & engagement, office experience as well as the company’s people business partner function. This role will report to the VP of People, and will partner closely with business leaders across all functions. 

The People team enables Hyperscience to thrive by empowering our people to become their best. The team is split into four verticals: Employee Experience, People Operations, Recruiting, and Talent Development. 

Responsibilities

  • Build a world-class employee and office experience and engagement program from the ground up, and lead a strategic and collaborative people business partnership function that will enable our people and business to thrive as we scale
  • Provide thought leadership and direction in every part of the employee lifecycle, including organizational design, change management, and cutting-edge employee engagement practices
  • Lead, inspire and support our people business partners as they work hand in hand with all teams at Hyperscience to enable engagement and development
  • Help evolve our culture and values in ways that drive accountability and result in happy, engaged, high-performing individuals and teams
  • Fine-tune existing people programs and conceive new ones that bolster the effectiveness of new hire onboarding & departmental onboarding, easing assimilation and fostering an environment of inclusivity, open and clear communication, and teamwork
  • Partner closely with People Operations, Talent Development, Recruiting, Finance and Legal to deliver best-in-class support as well to streamline processes for efficiency

Qualifications

  • Expertise and a track record of success in leading organizations through the changes required to elevate and optimize employee experience & engagement at high-growth companies
  • Expertise in designing and implementing simple and effective employee engagement methods that drive growth, accountability and performance
  • A thoughtful approach to supporting the organization's adoption of policies and programs that align our people with purpose and drive performance and positive employee engagement
  • Balance of strategic and tactical experience - strong skills in strategy development, planning and effective, measurable implementation
  • Previous people management experience
  • Ability to build relationships and establish credibility throughout an organization as an effective coach and problem-solver of people issues
  • Very strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A love of learning and the ability to approach all matters with an eye for continuous improvement 
  • An affinity and understanding of tech start-up culture to help Hyperscience and its employees handle the natural evolution of our culture and values
  • Willingness to participate in calls across time zones as needed
