Payroll Manager

The finance team at Work & Co enables the company to run successfully and efficiently. The Payroll Manager will manage all aspects of preparing and distributing employee payments. They will be part of our growing finance and accounting team and will report directly to the Controller. They approach their work with a spirit of customer service, prioritizing communication and always with an eye toward how to make interactions easy and intuitive for employees across our studios.
What You Will Do
- Develop and refine systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
- Process bi-monthly payroll and expense reimbursements for our US employees
- Update and maintain payroll records in our systems and provide relevant reporting to stakeholders (finance, talent, leadership, etc)
- This position is also responsible for ensuring contributions are accurately contributed to the company’s 401(k) plan, and serves as the primary point of contact for employees’ questions regarding contributions
- Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a payroll manager or similar role
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
- Demonstrated understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
- Familiarity with ADP and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Strong Interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Passion for working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to anticipate needs and prioritize tasks. You should have a predisposition to seek out answers as new challenges arise
