Feather is redefining furniture rental for city living and helping people feel at home no matter where they live or how long they plan on staying. By giving people smarter options, Feather is able to keep more furniture in homes and out of landfills.

As our first Recruiter, you will be responsible for hiring across all functions and building the systems and processes needed to scale a company-wide recruiting operation, while also strategically partnering with the Head of People on retention efforts and employee onboarding. The ideal candidate is ambitious, detail oriented, comfortable working in cross-functional teams, and passionate about Feather’s mission and the end user above all else.

What you’ll do: 

  • Actively source, recruit, and hire talent for all departments, including engineering, data, and design roles, as well as operational and administrative roles
  • Manage the full recruiting process, inclusive of sourcing candidates, vetting resumes, and managing the candidate pipeline throughout the interview process
  • Work closely with internal hiring managers to create clear job descriptions, interview frameworks, written projects, and offer letters
  • Source qualified candidates through active job posts, referrals, networking, and active sourcing using Linkedin and other professional job sites
  • Create a positive experience for all candidates by managing candidate communication promptly and thoughtfully
  • Take on initiatives to improve the efficiency of Feather’s recruiting process and to improve the reach of recruiting efforts to increase inbound, high quality applicants
  • Gather data throughout the recruiting process and adjust standard operating procedures based on insights
  • Be an ambassador of the Feather brand, assisting with any recruiting events, projects, or internal recruitment processes
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and other retention efforts

What you need to be successful: 

  • 2+ years experience recruiting for a startup or tech company (preferably as an in house recruiter)
  • Experience with using an applicant tracking system (we use Greenhouse)
  • Flexibility to work effectively on a variety of roles including but not limited to engineering, product, marketing, and business development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and operationally complex organization
