About the role

The purpose of the Senior Director of Human Resources is to develop and implement the overall HR strategy in support of short-term and long-term business goals. This person will create and manage the implementation of organizational change and culture that drives innovation and employee engagement. You will partner with specialist groups to ensure coordination of HR strategies and processes across the organization, and with business leaders to grow diverse leadership, talent and technical capability in the business. You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of structures and strategies to improve individual and organizational performance and to provide leadership for the HR function and team members. The Senior Director develops and monitors the overall strategy and financial responsibility for external vendor and agency relationships associated with risk management.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all employee and proprietary company information.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times; applying strong communication skills to all interactions with FanDuel Group employees, vendors, management, the public at large.
  • Maintain a highly visible profile to employees and maintain an open, sincere disposition for employee concerns and suggestions.
  • Apply discretion to interactions with employees on sensitive issues; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educate others on the value of diversity.
  • Partner with specialist groups and business leaders to grow diverse leadership, talent and technical capability in the business
  • Provide leadership and coaching for the HR function and team members; acts as advisor on performance and employee relations related issues.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Analyze the efficiency, efficacy, and compliance of existing HR programs, develop and implement improvements as needed.
  • Develop management training in identified core Human Resource areas.
  • Address complex employee relations issues; identify resolutions and advise management in appropriate strategies/solutions; effectively communicate potential consequences of actions.
  • Partner with internal and outside legal counsel to resolve complex employment related issues.
  • Respond to high level/elevated inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Work with managers/supervisors regarding salary administration/program to ensure compliance and equity within organization; consult with managers as to safety policy and processes, assumes a lead role on accident review boards.
  • Present business and human resources issues and resolutions to a variety of groups, including divisional and corporate management teams.
  • Develop and monitor the overall strategy and financial responsibility for internal programs and external vendor and agency relationships associated with risk management.
  • Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and make recommendations.
  • Utilize turnover and organizational data in order to analyze and identify opportunities for improving FanDuel Group employment experience and reduce turnover; collaborate with business groups to implement new programs, strategies and policies.
  • Analyze data to provide structure and guidance to site management to address employee trends or areas of business productivity.

Who we’re looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, organizational development, or related field from four-year college or university is required.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources and 5 years’ experience leading and managing teams required.
  • Previous experience with an HRIS/HCMS is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and have intermediate math skills in order to calculate proportions, analyze data, trends and forecast budgets and employment needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point) is required.
  • Must be comfortable and able to navigate third party vendors’ databases and programs.
  • Technical expertise in the following is required: strategy development, talent management, talent acquisition, leadership development, compliance and risk management, workforce engagement and organizational development.
  • Understanding of local and national employment laws and regulations.
  • A track record of influencing and advising executive leadership on talent and employment matters.
  • Demonstrated initiative in determining new or modifying existing HR policies and procedures and effectively communicating them to staff
  • Ability to achieve goals and align interests through cooperation and collaboration with other groups and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience owning P&L for Human Resource function.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on style to deliver practical and effective solutions.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment with exceptional organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize on a consistent basis.
  • 25% travel time is expected for the position.
