WHAT YOU'LL DO
We’re looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Senior Manager, People Operations to join the Braze People team and report to the Director of People Operations! This position will be a key team leader and subject matter expert; responsible for overseeing key people operations functions (compensation, benefits, systems, compliance) as we scale globally.
Role Responsibilities may include:
- Oversee Braze Total Rewards, driving our compensation strategy and partnering with Total Rewards Senior Analyst to deliver best-in-class benefits.
- Lead the design of competitive, market-based compensation plans that align with the company’s business objectives and talent strategy.
- Evolve our job classification and leveling structures to drive greater consistency and transparency across our compensation programs as we scale in partnership with our People Business Partners
- Constantly evolve people ops practices by analyzing trends and utilizing data to inform, develop people programs, and influence change. You’ll also seek opportunities to leverage technology and/or more automation wherever you spot inefficiencies to better Braze practices.
- Consult with HR business partners and leaders across the business with respect to all compensation matters and develop appropriate recommendations or tailored solutions as appropriate
- Ensure internal equity through the analysis of existing compensation and people policies, guidelines and procedures.
- In partnership with our Finance team, lead and continuously improve Braze’s performance based compensation, salary increase/merit, and promotion processes.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of current and developing federal, state and local regulations and global labor laws that may affect compensation and benefits policies
- Partner in the design of effective compensation-related communications and training programs for managers and employees within the total rewards framework
- Partner with the Braze People leadership and Executive team to drive compensation philosophy decisions and put them into practice.
- Drive continuous process improvement and operational excellence
WHO YOU ARE
- 5+ years of professional (ideally start-up) experience in various aspects of HR; with a particular focus on the administration of Compensation and Benefits programs, and/or complex HR Systems (Workday).
- You hold a self-starter mindset and take comfort in significant responsibility--no matter how administrative or strategic it is.
- You are highly motivated and process-driven with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. - An open-minded mindset, with a can-do attitude in a complex, ambiguous environment.
- Approachable, flexible, and works well within a small team environment
- Strong business acumen with the ability to learn and understand financials, and relay learnings to the business
- Hands-on, operational and design experience with compensation and benefits programs and systems
- Expert analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, modeling, and charting.
- Familiarity with Bamboo, Payscale and CompAnalyst, preferred
- Exceptional analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills: good follow-through on cross-functional plans, projects and goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills; with the ability to tailor communication to a variety of stakeholders
- You are a self-starter who loves taking initiative and proactively provide suggestions to streamline and improve processes
- Ability to influence, deliver results and collaborate across functions and teams
- Experience with stock equity plans a plus
- Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred
