People at Q

In both a strategic and operational role, the VP of People will report to the CEO and assume a critical position in aligning business and HR strategies to proactively support the organization’s overall strategy, goals, mission and values. As a member of the executive team, he/she will partner with other senior leaders to identify the skills, talent and positions needed by the organization as Managed by Q continues to revolutionize the office space. The VP of People will also manage the implementation of the HR processes and programs necessary to support a culture that embodies our core principles. 

Responsibilities:

This wide-ranging role oversees the People team at Q. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

Human Resources Management

  • Develop, drive, and manage the full scope of the People functions (talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, benefits, learning and development, performance management, organizational design and change management)
  • Partner with leadership to advise on HR strategy

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • In partnership with leadership, develop a best in class employer brand that successfully attracts & retains top talent
  • Help build a talent pipeline that exposes us to exceptional people that will be essential in taking our business to the next level
  • Champion our onboarding and new hire orientation experience, ensuring a deep understanding of the business, company culture, principles and Q’s best practices

Organization Development

  • Shape the company narrative and organizational structure consistent with Q’s mission, principles and business objectives
  • Counsel and provide guidance to managers on their workforce strategies. Proactively advise on organizational design
  • Collaborate with Executive team to design and plan staffing needs, and manage a workforce plan

Compensation and Benefits

  • Design and maintain a competitive compensation program, and ensure that compensation plans and positions align with company strategy
  • Lead semi-annual review processes

Performance Management

  • Develop, communicate and manage an ongoing, effective performance feedback process that focuses on radical candor
  • Train and support managers on effective feedback techniques, fostering an environment of transparency and openness

Learning and Development

  • Design and implement programs and processes to develop needed skills, knowledge and experience, and plan for successors to key roles
  • Create and foster a continuous learning environment that challenges and engages Q’s workforce 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills in the basic management and leadership of all Human Resources functions, strategy development, implementation and assessment of program/system effectiveness
  • Business Minded. A collaborative business partner who aligns HR strategy with business goals, and places value on internal client service and satisfaction
  • Proven leader, experience in building great teams that consistently raise the bar
  • Able to work as a partner on key initiatives with the senior management team, and develop strong relationships
  • Situation Awareness. In tune with all aspects of the business, continuously challenging teams to do their best work
  • Analytical Skills. Brings a data-driven perspective to her/his work. 
  • Organized. Strong attention to detail while keeping an eye on the big picture. 
  • Exceptional ability to communicate and influence with all levels of employees
  • Relationship Building. Proven track record of building strong, trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Influence. Exceptional ability to communicate and influence with all levels of employees.
  • Passion and Spirit. Works with an entrepreneurial, walk-through-walls, can-do spirit. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
