Under the leadership of the Director of Employee Experience, HRBP, the HR Generalist ensures the consistent and compliant application of HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational and department standards, legal requirements, and professional HR practices. This role maintains accurate and well‑organized records while providing proactive support to leadership and staff across all HR functions. The HR Generalist also serves as a trusted partner to the OPC leadership and team, delivering reliable HR support, strengthening organizational effectiveness, and contributing to informed decision‑making through strong operational execution and attention to detail 
Primary Responsibilities

Talent Lifecycle 

  • Oversees the administration of exit interviews and staff engagement surveys, ensuring timely execution and appropriate follow‑up. 
  • Maintain correct and confidential employee records  
  • Provide operational support for performance evaluations and development programs.  
  • Develops clear, engaging, and visually compelling presentations briefing materials, and slide decks that effectively communicate key messages to diverse audiences 
  • Manages people data and metrics through a monthly scorecard in partnership with the OPC team 

Organizational Efficiency  

  • Fast paced environment and must manage multiple HR tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations in OPC 
  • Contribute to achieving museum and department goals through efficient HR processes. 

Employee Support and Guidance  

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries.  
  • Offer clear guidance on company policies, procedures, and benefits.

  • Monitor and report on program success metrics, including intern satisfaction, conversion rates, and overall impact on talent pipelines.

General Duties and Purpose
  • Drive operational efficiencies by streamlining HR processes and improving workflows to meet organizational needs. 
  • Serve as a resource for staff inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and HR-related matters, ensuring timely and accurate responses. 
  • Publish and manage the monthly People Newsletter to enhance internal communication and foster a sense of community. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support employee engagement initiatives and special projects aligned with the Museum’s mission. 
  • Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information and proprietary data. 
Occasional & Other Duties
  • Participate in special projects related to employee engagement 
  • Assist with annual reporting for internship program outcomes and employee experience metrics.  
  • Support committee work or cross-departmental initiatives as assigned by leadership.  
  • Coordinate museum-wide events and monthly All Staff meeting with the Director’s office liaison and staff appreciation activities to foster community and culture.  
  • Contribute policy updates and documentation reviews on an as-needed basis.  
  • Provide back-up support for HR operations during peak periods or staff absences.

  • Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols when handling personal data, HR records, and organizational information.  
  • Safekeeping of records in compliance with Museum policies and applicable privacy regulations.  
  • Exercising discretion and sound judgment in all communications and interactions to protect the integrity of confidential matters.  
  •  Ensuring that confidential information is only shared with authorized individuals on a need-to-know basis. 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience  
  •  A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is typically preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Paypro, JazzHR, Concur, and other relevant HRIS Systems and databases is a plus  
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range is $75,000-82,500 and will be commensurate with experience
