Position Overview
VettaFi is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Index Research Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our global index operations, you will be responsible for researching corporate actions and ensuring the timely and accurate calculation, implementation, and dissemination of our global index products. Your work will directly support VettaFi’s diverse client base, helping them launch and manage innovative financial products, both exchange-traded and non-exchange-traded.
This role serves as an excellent opportunity for career growth, offering exposure to VettaFi’s broader teams following successful completion of an intensive training and integration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Index Portfolio Management: Oversee and maintain a portfolio of global indexes across various markets, industries, and client needs, ensuring optimal functionality and relevance.

  • Index Calculation & Dissemination: Validate daily index calculations and the timely dissemination of data, adhering to our proprietary index methodology guidelines through VettaFi’s advanced index platform.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform comprehensive QA processes, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data related to index calculations, corporate actions, and other index-related information.

  • Corporate Action Research: Research and monitor global corporate actions, leveraging internal and external datasets to guarantee precise action details and impact assessments.

  • Impact Analysis: Analyze corporate action events, ensuring that their implementation aligns with index methodology guidelines, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Data Feed Monitoring: Track and validate key data feeds (corporate actions, FX rates, exchange prices, etc.) to ensure ongoing data accuracy.

  • Client Reporting: Create and distribute regular index statistics, factsheets, presentations, and other materials for clients, showcasing key performance indicators and insights.

  • Custom Reporting: Design and implement automated custom reports for index licensees, delivering actionable insights tailored to their needs.

  • Client Support: Provide timely and thorough responses to a range of index-related client inquiries, from corporate actions to statistical analysis and marketing collateral.

Must haves:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience in financial indexing, structured products, portfolio analysis, or research.

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel; ability to design, manipulate, and maintain large datasets with precision.

  • Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of portfolio theory, multi-asset allocation models, and financial/portfolio mathematics.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze data, synthesize information, and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences. Comfort and confidence in speaking to groups, including both internal teams and external stakeholders or clients, including those unfamiliar with the subject matter.

  • Team-Oriented: A highly motivated team player who demonstrates integrity and courage in all endeavors.

  • Growth Mindset: Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Nice to haves:

  • Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages/tools such as SQL, VBA, Matlab, Python, and other database query tools.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of global regulations related to financial indexes, exchange-traded products, and structured products.

  • Report Writing: Expertise in writing clear, concise reports that convey complex information in an understandable manner.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in our New York office—Tuesday through Thursday).

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD Annually. Please note that the Salary Range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
