Job Summary:
- A software development intern collaborates with a team of colleagues and mentors to strategize, design, create, evaluate, and launch new software applications or improvements to existing systems. They broaden their understanding of programming principles, effectively implement real-world solutions to specific challenges, enhance their proficiency in testing methods, confirm the correct operation of systems, and eloquently articulate the advantages of their solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly learn development tools, best practices, and programming concepts with guidance from your mentors.
- Collaborate effectively with your team on various aspects of software development.
- Complete simple coding tasks independently while exploring new areas of software development.
- Embrace feedback from team leads to enhance your skills and improve your work.
- Gain foundational knowledge of our business domain within your first month, expanding to a comprehensive understanding within three months.
- Participate in design discussions and contribute your ideas to the team.
- Document, implement, and test high-quality features with support from peers and mentors.
- Actively engage in code reviews and contribute code for review.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of programming concepts, with a foundation in Java.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, with a particular preference for candidates who have experience using Scriptrunner for Jira Cloud.
