Job Summary: 

  • A software development intern collaborates with a team of colleagues and mentors to strategize, design, create, evaluate, and launch new software applications or improvements to existing systems. They broaden their understanding of programming principles, effectively implement real-world solutions to specific challenges, enhance their proficiency in testing methods, confirm the correct operation of systems, and eloquently articulate the advantages of their solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly learn development tools, best practices, and programming concepts with guidance from your mentors.
  • Collaborate effectively with your team on various aspects of software development.
  • Complete simple coding tasks independently while exploring new areas of software development.
  • Embrace feedback from team leads to enhance your skills and improve your work.
  • Gain foundational knowledge of our business domain within your first month, expanding to a comprehensive understanding within three months.
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute your ideas to the team.
  • Document, implement, and test high-quality features with support from peers and mentors.
  • Actively engage in code reviews and contribute code for review.

Required Skills:  

  • Understanding of programming concepts, with a foundation in Java.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, with a particular preference for candidates who have experience using Scriptrunner for Jira Cloud.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:  

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in Computer Science or a related field.
  • An eagerness to learn, grow, and apply your skills in a real-world setting, especially in Jira automation and project management.
