About the Role:

The Institutional Lending Manager will oversee the tenured institutional lending team through a hands-on, development-focused management approach. This role fosters a growth mindset by actively coaching employees and strengthening relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners. The manager ensures disciplined execution of underwriting, compliance, and due diligence standards across all institutional lending programs. With deep organizational knowledge and a commitment to operational excellence, the position supports strategic program development while maintaining superior service and regulatory alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the institutional loan purchase process; ensuring team training, resources, and an effective review process to identify loans that exceed established approval criteria.
  • Manage the institutional loan sale process; ensuring first class partner responses, due diligence, pool creation, metrics, and contract review.
  • Manage the loan partner process; ensuring timely and appropriate documents and due diligence for all loan purchasers of Connexus in order to create and maintain strong relationships with our business partners. Work with other departments (IT, Accounting/Finance, etc.) as needed.
  • Work with VP of Institutional Lending to manage the loan sale inventory flow through timely meeting with partners, reporting to executives, and updates to potential loan purchasers and brokers.
  • Assist VP of Institutional Lending to analyze, improve and implement processes to execute overall business plan and programs, as well as the development of new lending programs.
  • Develop employee skills through training, feedback, dialogue, resource allocation, as well as completing employee goals, performance appraisals, and any needed corrective action.
  • Acts as a resource for regulators, employees, management, and others.
  • Works closely with Accounting to ensure timely processing and superior service to our business partners.
  • Partners with Portfolio Management to present Department and Program performance in an easy-to-digest format for Senior Leadership.
  • Comply with all State and Federal Regulations as they pertain to the job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • This position is Remote.
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience is Required.
  • 8+ years of prior lending experience (such as Indirect, Institutional) is Required.
  • 3+ years of people leader experience is Required.
  • Prior experience working in a financial industry (such as a credit union or bank is Required.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, effective problem-solving ability, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to ensure flow is Required.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with business partners and exemplify effective teamwork is Required.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems is Required.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proficiency in Microsoft Excel is Required.
