Gain operates globally with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore.

What will you do?

We are expanding our Intelligence Origination team into Credit. This team is responsible for sourcing proprietary, transaction-level credit intelligence across live and announced private equity-related transactions. Unlike traditional newsrooms, our model is data-first, capturing structured intelligence rather than producing news stories.

You will play a pivotal role in expanding our real-time credit intelligence coverage. The focus is on the completeness, accuracy and speed of data capture - not editorial output. Your mission is to cultivate a trusted network of off-record sources, including lenders, investment bankers, private equity sponsors, advisors, consultants and lawyers, to uncover proprietary market intelligence.

The insights you gather will be transformed into clean, machine-readable data that powers our platform and forms the backbone of our clients' origination and transaction analysis workflows.

You'll speak with market participants on a background-only basis, surfacing intelligence that rarely enters the public domain. Working closely with our analysts and research teams, you'll help convert raw market insight into structured, scalable data that fuels client workflows and supports better investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

In your role, you will:

  • Build and maintain a network of sources - including lenders, investment bankers, sponsors, advisors and lawyers

  • Conduct daily off-record, high-trust conversations to surface non-public credit intelligence

  • Ensure high-quality sourcing of proprietary datapoints that feed directly into the Gain platform

  • Collaborate closely with our in-house analysts and research teams to ensure data completeness, consistency and structured format

  • Support the expansion of our real-time transaction tracker and contribute to internal market intelligence sharing

Who are you?

You have:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in private credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, M&A, private equity, or a related field, with prior people management experience being an advantage

  • Experience sourcing market intelligence - in journalism, research, origination, investor relations or a related field

  • A background in covering deals in private credit, distressed debt/restructuring, high-yield bond and leveraged loan offerings is preferred but not necessarily essential

  • Skilled at cultivating senior-level sources and handling off-record, background-only conversations

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both in-person and remotely

  • High attention to detail and ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy

  • Comfortable operating independently as part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team

What do we offer?

  • Base salary: $140,000-160,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) and an annual performance-based bonus

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) plan with pension contribution

  • Hybrid work model - 3 days per week in our Manhattan office

  • 20 days paid time off and public holidays

  • Annual learning & development budget

  • International offsites and local team events

  • A high-performance, inclusive culture with global collaboration and real ownership

Does this sound like a perfect match?

We are proud of our wonderful product and believe it has lots of potential. We are growing fast and having fun while building our platform and company. Does this sound like a team you would like to become a part of? We are excited to get to know you and show you what we do!
