​​Realtor.com® is seeking an Economist Intern on the Economics Research team based in Austin, TX, or New York, NY, with interest in data-driven storytelling to a variety of audiences, strong analytic instincts, and skills to glean and visualize insights from large data. The purpose of this role will be to deliver insights to the team and its public and internal stakeholders derived from analyzing housing, economic, and consumer data. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with other members of the Economics team and other data teams to extract key trends impacting residential real estate, blending http://Realtor.com’s proprietary data with relevant data from industry, government, and partners.
  • Build data visualizations to make it easier to access and draw insights from proprietary and 3rd-party data.
  • Collaborate with Sr Economist and research teams to deliver research projects to foster http://Realtor.com’s share of voice—how often our data and insights are cited in the media.
  • Contribute to roadmap execution on innovative economic insights and data products, publish unique content on http://Realtor.com research, including regular and ad-hoc reporting, and drive ideas for future analyses.
  • Extract data, conduct complex analyses, and communicate results such that they can be easily understood by key audiences with varying degrees of housing market knowledge; audiences include: internal decision makers, home buyers, home sellers, real estate professionals, and the media.

  • Familiar with or willing to learn to use cloud and big data technologies to extract and analyze data (Snowflake, S3, or others).

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year College or University, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in statistics, economics, computer science or related degrees or related concentrations
  • Have experience in one or more of the following: SQL, Tableau, R, Python, or other data tools
  • Must have a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
  • Must be able to complete the full internship lasting eleven weeks
  • Able to work well in a team setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Able to demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong worth ethic
  • Desire to embrace new challenges
  • Experience dealing with multiple competing priorities and projects
