Intern in Performance

Virtuozzo offers an exciting internship opportunity for Alumni of Constructor University Bremen. During this internship, you, together with the other interns, will learn and be supervised/mentored by our Senior and Principal team members.

Virtuozzo Infrastructure is a product where performance, scalability, and reliability are critical. The performance team develops and runs benchmarks using internal testing frameworks, analyzes results, and researches new test scenarios for areas such as compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, GPU workloads, virtualization-level micro-benchmarks, and many others.
The goal of this internship is to contribute to the team’s research and development process: improving internal performance tools, researching and integrating new types of performance tests, extending the custom testing framework, and using AI-assisted/spec-driven development which helps move from requirements to implementation and validation faster.
The final result should include new or improved performance tests, internal tooling, automation scripts, collected benchmark results, and clear documentation or reports that help engineering teams understand performance behavior, regressions, and bottlenecks.
Candidate Requirements
1. Senior-level Computer Science undergraduate or graduate student, or recent alumni of Constructor University.
2. Interest in Linux, performance testing, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, or distributed
systems.
3. Basic Python scripting skills; Bash is a plus.
4. Basic understanding of Linux command line and system metrics.
5. Familiarity with tools such as fio , iperf , sysbench , stress-ng , iostat , or
vmstat is a plus, but not required.
6. Basic understanding of virtualization, storage, or networking is a plus.
7. Interest in AI-assisted/spec-driven development and automation workflows.
8. Analytical mindset: ability to compare results, notice anomalies, document findings, and
communicate clearly.
9. Self-directed working style: ability to learn new tools, run experiments carefully, document
results, and ask for help when needed.
Compensation: 1,000 EUR/month, full-time.
Expected Duration: 3 months full-time during the summer, with possible full/part-time
extension.
Team Size: 3 students.
Location: Fully remote.
Start Date: June 1st.

If you are from another university, this opportunity is not for you, and your application will not be considered. Thank you for your interest and understanding.
