The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer Intern at Kargo, you will join a team of backend engineers responsible for developing Kargo’s large-scale distributed advertising auction platform to: 1) Maximize revenue for publishers, and 2) Enhance brand value for marketers. You will gain first-hand experience working with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), utilizing Agile methodology (Scrum). You will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of areas including development, design, testing, and big data using the industry’s leading-edge technologies like Golang, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Snowflake, and more.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Project, Solutions Engineering, and Data teams to formulate and develop solutions, which ultimately will provide valuable experiences that will set you apart in your engineering career.
Throughout this summer internship, you’ll learn a variety of tools/fields including Micro-service architecture, REST architecture, Distributed Systems, Cloud Technology, Troubleshooting and critical thinking, Programmatic Advertising, Big Data, and Databases.

The Daily To-Do

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade code that adheres to Kargo’s code standard
• Collaborate cross-functionally to diagnose and debug production issues
• Work in an Agile environment, attending daily stand-ups and actively participating in sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Update documentation to improve knowledge sharing and onboarding process as needed

Qualifications

• This year, we’ll be prioritizing candidates who are rising undergraduate seniors or who are pursuing postgraduate studies. All interns are required to be eligible to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience coding in a general-purpose programming language, including but not limited to Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C++, Java, PHP
• Proactive and has a passion for problem-solving with the audacity to take on unknown challenges
