About the team & Opportunity: 

The Core Platform team designs, builds, and operates backend software services that support Quartet Health’s business logic. Because these services are crucial to the success of the company, the Core Platform team is passionate about security and reducing overall risk around any change to Quartet Health’s production environment. 

As an intern on the Core Platform team, you will help implement product features, write tests and instrument code to support its operation in a production environment. You will work side-by-side with an existing Core Platform team member as they teach you how a balance is found between delivering value to our customers and reacting quickly to change.

As the core engineer intern you will spend 8 weeks achieving the following outcomes:

• Experience writing software with at least one of Java, Kotlin or Python
• Awareness of modern relational database schema management practices
• Introductions to monitoring and observability tools
• Involvement in an end-to-end product development lifecycle

Accountabilities:

• Participate in meetings with the product development team
• Implement, test and deliver new features with the help of a Core Platform member
• Help identify and fix production defects

Primary Qualifications:

• Working towards a Computer Science degree, Software Engineering degree, or similar.
• Experience with an object oriented programming language
• Basic understanding of the HTTP protocol
• An interest in building web applications and APIs
