We are rapidly growing our direct to consumer divisions and are seeking software engineering, data science, analytics, product management & design talent for internship opportunities in New York City.
Client (Frontend Engineering) Team:
As a frontend engineering intern, you could help build rich UX across Web, Android, iOS, FireTV, tvOS, Roku and future platforms. Background in design and a firm understanding of how to profile animation to reduce and avoid jank is crucial to the success of this role. Our client technology stack includes ReactJS and React Native. We love working with modern tools and sharing our experiences with the community.
Services (Backend Engineering) Team:
As a backend engineering intern within our Services Engineering team you could help implement microservices applications that focus on content delivery, user entitlements, personalization and data. This is a fantastic opportunity to help solve complex but interesting scalability, performance and resiliency problems for products consumed by millions of users! You will have the opportunity to work with a suite of great technologies and in a highly collaborative environment. Our technology stack includes Golang, MariaDB, MongoDB, AWS (SQS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.), Docker, Github, Grafana, InfluxDB, PHP and Memcache/Redis. We love working with modern tools and sharing our experiences with the community.
Data Science & Analytics:
As a data science or analytics intern you could help with data models that drive specific product features and drive insights in support of our consumer products across mobile, tablets, web, connected TV, voice and emerging technologies. You will work with big data platforms and statistical, econometric, and/or machine learning techniques to enable product capabilities and features.
Product Management & Design:
As a product management or design intern you could help shape the strategy and drive the execution and successful delivery of our top-rate TV Everywhere apps across Discovery’s US TV Brands (Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet and Travel Channel, among others). Your contributions will help in the decision-making process for brands that customers know and love, based on user data and research. You will help with the discovery, development and shipment of products and features that deliver both meaningful benefit to our users and strategic success for our company.
* Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
* Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
* Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
*Experience with some of the following: SQL, Apache Spark, Hadopp, AWS (Redshift, S3, EC2, EMR)
