How does this Position help VTS Succeed?

As an Engineering Intern at VTS you will be part of a team that builds features for a product that is fundamentally changing how commercial real estate is done in the world. At VTS, you’ll have an opportunity to learn and use the latest technologies such as Ruby/Rails, React, and CI tools to ship real features to our production app. You’ll work closely with a collaborative agile team as an engineer on the team (but with mentorship and coaching support). 

COVID-19 is causing a seismic shift in how commercial real estate operates, and landlords are rushing to modernize their businesses and embrace digital ways of touring spaces - and they’re turning to us for help! You will be working with the Market Platform / Marketplace team. This is a new business unit for VTS that is seeing tremendous growth. We are building out a digital hub for leasing teams to manage their photos and videos, analytics about who is engaging with their online content, and tools to collaborate with brokers and tenants.

VTS is offering an extended engineering internship program from mid-July through October, for 40 hours a week with a competitive compensation rate. While this program is remote, we prefer candidates in the New York City area. The program consists of hands-on learning, opportunities to create work with teams that are revolutionizing an industry, and the chance to have some fun!

What Makes This Job Awesome?

• Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, QA, to discover and solve challenges for our product
• Pair program with other full-stack engineers to build real customer facing features top to bottom in a large, complex code base.
• Write and refactor code using TDD (test driven development) and other best practices.
• Spend your time learning and writing code

What Makes You a Great Fit?

• Interest in working in full-stack engineering
• Comfortable writing code
• Some experience building web apps - school and personal projects count!
• Interest in design, user experience, or human-computer interfaces

Bonus Points

• Some exposure to our specific tech stack (Ruby on the back end, React on the front end)
• Prior experiences in other industries and professional workplaces
