JOB DESCRIPTION

Ascend Interplay is a multi-family office seeking an Investment Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is an analytical self-starter and collaborative problem-solver who can own and evolve financial models (asset allocation, cash management, and three-statement models), convert unstructured inputs (calls, transcripts, AI/GPT summaries) into crisp, actionable recommendations, and communicate clearly through tight briefs, memos, and decks.

This person needs to be exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, maintaining audit-ready files, clean pipelines, and a steady cadence of insights that drive fast, high-quality decisions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own financial models. Asset allocation, cash management, scenarios/sensitivities, and documentation/version control.

  • Work within the following asset classes: Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Real Estate, Derivatives and Structured Products.

  • Analyze meeting notes and survey data to surface implications, unresolved questions, and targeted recommendations for the investment team.

  • Lead industry and sector research within landscapes, market sizing, comps, and signals.

  • Manage Airtable investment pipeline stage hygiene, owner assignments, status, and weekly reporting.

  • Build and refine decks.

  • Draft investment memos.

  • Take and structure diligence notes.

  • Support with quarterly reviews.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 2+ years of experience in credit or equity research/analysis.

  • Experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Real Estate, Derivatives and Structured Products.

  • Be hungry for knowledge and willing to "run through walls" to learn fast.

  • Proven ownership of financial models (asset allocation, cash, three-statement/sensitivity literacy).

  • Strong modeling skills, specifically in Excel.

  • Ability to use AI to your competitive advantage.

  • Excellent communication (briefs, memos, decks).

  • Rigorous organization/detail (audit-ready files, clean pipelines).

  • Can work independently.

  • Thrives in a small team.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience as a credit or equity analyst.

  • Experience with Airtable.
