ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inkomoko is currently seeking a qualified Investment Manager who will support our team in the coordination of our program activities and work directly with our entrepreneur clients in Chad within our locations.

LOAN PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT (30%) 

  • Review and approve loans  of loans within the delegated approval limits.
  • Ensure loan targets are met while maintaining a healthy portfolio.
  • Monitor the performance and quality of the loan portfolio.

CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT (30%)

  • Conduct credit reviews, credit assessment of loans submitted for approval.
  • Monitor delinquent accounts and implement recovery strategies 
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and mitigate major credit risks.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (10%)

  • Offer excellent customer service through daily conversations, correspondence, and site visits as needed to maintain strong positive relationships with borrowers, 
  • Work with the Business Growth Services team to ensure borrower success  and  monitor the close collaboration of both the BGS and Investment teams for improved customer service delivery. 
  • Track information about borrowers and communicate effectively with key stakeholders about client status, 
  • Actively participate as key staff in the  Portfolio Review Meetings. 
  • Maintain a tracking system of borrower payments and contact information, 
  • Interact with government leaders, the court system, refugees, external partners, other stakeholders when required for informed decisions and better support to our clients.
  • Address client complaints related to loans and service delivery.
  • Adhere to the various funder requirements  including timely and accurate reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

REPORTING AD COMPLIANCE (10%)

  • Review periodic portfolio performance and funder/stakeholder  reports  to ensure their accuracy and timely submission.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulations and Audit requirements.
  • Ensure accurate loan documentation and record keeping.

TEAM AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT (10%) 

  • Supervising and training Investment Officers staff in all steps of the investment granting cycle including:.
  • Set performance targets and monitor its achievement. 
  • Conduct regular staff training on  lending policies and procedures, changes in regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Support employee career development and growth. 

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (10%) 

  • Review the reports done by the reconciliation team on both disbursements and loan repayments.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with investment software applications.
  • Work with system providers to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance 
  • Manage user security access
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties, develop and maintain work flows for all stages of investment. 
  • Advise the Management team how to automate key lending processes.
  • Supervise all aspects of the investment operations. This supervision includes posting of payment, payoffs, and balancing, disbursing investment funds
  • Ensure lending team is provided with updates and procedural changes
  • Participates in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR;

  • University degree in Finance or another related field 
  • 10+ years of work experience in the relevant or applicable field 
  • Must speak fluent English,French & local Arabic. Knowledge of other local languages will be an added advantage 
  • Experience in investment management, microfinance, capital leases, and access to finance for Micro businesses and SMEs is STRONGLY preferred 
  • Experience in lending, group savings is strongly preferred 
  • Experience in lending products development is a MUST 
  • Experience in managing investment staff 
  • Experience providing business advice to entrepreneurs and dealing with customers/debt 
  • Prior experience in using Investment management system software 
  • Experience in partnerships management is STRONGLY preferred
  • Experience in managing difficult clients and reaching positive outcomes 
  • Very strong attention to details and good follow-through, 
  • Comfort with the civil court system, collateral registration and previous experience in litigation is preferred
