About the role.

We are seeking a talented individual to lead the Investment Management function of PURE. The individual will serve as a senior leader reporting into PURE’s Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Controller, Investment Accountants and General Counsel to manage the day-to-day oversight and all aspects of PURE’s investment strategy.  This will be a hybrid role based out of our White Plains, NY office.  This individual will take a proactive approach to monitoring performance, directing asset allocation, as well as selecting and overseeing external investment managers. A successful candidate will provide advice, analyses, presentations, and recommendations on various aspects of asset allocation and investment strategies to meet the long-term goals, regulatory requirements, and needs of the insurance company.

What You'll Do.

Major responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to set investment risk appetite to align with business objectives
  • Monitoring performance, liquidity, and regulatory changes
  • Developing approaches to portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities
  • Completing due diligence on external managers
  • Implementing investment strategies and associated operations
  • Delivering findings and insights to the Chief Financial Officer and Investment Committee
  • Maintaining relationships with external managers, custodians, and other counterparties
  • Partnering with Controller & Finance team for cash management and to ensure accurate reporting
  • Working closely with actuarial and risk to ensure investment strategies align with business needs
  • Reporting processes, procedures, and findings to internal and external auditors
  • Providing all support to the organization as it relates to investment management  
  • Prepare materials for board meetings with key stakeholders including PURE’s board and Tokio Marine, PURE’s parent company

What We're Looking For.

  • Knowledge of asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management
  • A proven record of investment due diligence and manager selection
  • A demonstrated ability to present data, financial information, and new investment ideas
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-starter; able to set direction and lead efforts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business administration or a related field required.  Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business administration or a related field preferred.
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of prior experience, ideally within insurance, asset management or financial services

The base salary for this role can range from $200K - $225K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
