You are an engineer, first and foremost. You can rapidly build and iterate on products that will delight users, with best practices in terms of both software development and security. You thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. You are a strong communicator, explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you. You possess strong computer science fundamentals and UI/UX sensibilities. You are interested and excited to build and own apps from top to bottom, from a delightful UI all the way down to data management and networking. And finally, your accomplishments are much more important than your paper credentials.
About the RoleOur mission is to provide innovative access to financial products that help RIAs secure their clients’ financial futures and the Flourish Engineers play a key role in doing just that. Flourish has a mature technology platform and products that resonate in the market, and we are seeking a first hire in a new mobile group to bring the Flourish platform from zero to one on iOS.
You will develop a deep understanding of our technology, the Flourish business, and the needs and habits of our existing user base. You will partner with product managers, business leaders, and fellow engineers to solve complex business problems with software and deliver commercially feasible and viable solutions. Working closely with the engineering teams, you will bring ideas from the whiteboard to reality on mobile screens, making key architectural decisions, developing the tech scope and strategy for mobile, and performing code and architecture reviews. You will leverage your knowledge of mobile development on iOS to deliver our app to customers, including building, testing and deployment to the App Store.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
- 5+ years mobile application development experience
- 3+ years experience building, launching, and maintaining a high quality mobile app on iOS using native APIs and modern features/frameworks (UIKit, Swift, Foundation)
- Ability to translate designs and business logic into UI code that works across iOS devices, and also to give effective feedback as a partner to designers
- Understanding of best practices as it relates to Security for mobile apps
- Familiarity with analytics collection and related platforms
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast moving team
- Ready to learn, but just as ready to teach
- Due to the nature of this position, as part of the background check process, candidates must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA. For roles requiring registration, additional regulatory screenings may apply, including a review of Form U5 disclosures and other relevant licensing information.
- Experience with SwiftUI
- Experience with React Native or related technologies like Expo
- Open source contributions
- GraphQL experience (We use Apollo + Typescript)
- Full stack or backend experience building REST APIs
- Interest in financial planning and fintech/insurtech
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering
At Flourish, we focus on ensuring fair, equitable pay by providing competitive salaries, along with bonus and incentive opportunities and benefits for all employees.
Base Salary Range: $167,800 - $220,200 plus bonus
