HealthPartners is currently hiring for an IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst. This position is essential to ensure that HealthPartners’ technology systems can recover quickly from unexpected disruptions, including major outages, disasters, or union-related work stoppages.
The Analyst will develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, respond to emergencies and work closely with IT and application teams to restore services. In addition, this individual will provide IT planning and support during union-related work stoppages and assess current recovery capabilities to recommend improvements. Because IT outages and disasters are unpredictable and can significantly impact business performance, the analyst will also participate in an on-call rotation to support and coordinate system outages. The analyst will be expected to act as a liaison between IT and various business units to help ensure effective communication between the entities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Services, or equivalent experience/knowledge
- Three (3) years of professional IT work experience
- Ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written for technical and non-technical topics.
- Excellent people skills with a strong, consistent service orientation to both internal and external customers
- Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
Understanding of negotiation and arbitration principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification of Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery Management, or ITIL Foundations
- Leadership skills and an ability to multitask in high stress situations
- Three (3) years of experience with IT Disaster Recovery planning and oversight.
- Understanding of audit and security standards (e.g., CFR, NIST, HIPAA, etc.)
Hours/Location:
- Monday – Friday; core business hours and available for after-hours outages
- This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite presence at the office as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend updates to IT's Disaster Recovery Policies and procedures.
- Assists in updating IS&T’s business continuity procedures.
- Coordinates disaster recovery testing and walk-throughs.
- Documents and participates in the process and outcome of IS&T's Disaster Recovery Tests.
- Coordinates storage, availability, and the inventory of Disaster Recovery Planning documentation and related contractual agreements for specific IS&T groups.
- Documents IS&T's Service Continuity Plans in partnership with IS&T Management and Leaders.
- Creates awareness of IS&T's Disaster Recovery program; aiding application and infrastructure IS&T support with Disaster Recovery Planning and testing documentation.
- Documents decisions and events during a disaster recovery implementation
- Reviews change management reports to identify potential high-risk work that could lead to system outages
- Partners with IT groups to develop solutions for improved redundancy, availability, and capacity planning to meet planned recoverability requirements.
- Assist with execution of workplace recovery solutions at time of event.
