You will be responsible for the stability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure and data pipelines. This includes real-time systems, batch processing, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines that directly support mission-critical financial products. This role requires someone who leans in during incidents, drives root cause resolution, and builds systems that prevent recurrence, not just someone who manages from a distance.

The IT Operations Manager will work hybrid in our New York City office.

What You’ll Own:

  • End-to-end ownership of production operations, including cloud infrastructure, batch processing and deployment    environments.
  • Reliability and uptime of critical systems, with a strong focus on SLAs, monitoring, and incident response.

  • Batch processing architecture, including optimization, scheduling, and failure recovery of daily and intraday jobs.
  • CI/CD pipelines and release processes, driving automation and reducing deployment risk.
  • Monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks, ensuring rapid detection and resolution of issues.

  • Automation-first mindset, reducing manual intervention across all operational workflows.

Leadership and Culture:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of IT Operations and DevOps engineers.
  • Set a high bar for technical rigor, ownership, and responsiveness.
  • Foster a culture of urgency, transparency, and accountability during both normal operations and incidents.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quants, and Data teams to ensure operational alignment with product and data delivery goals.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, especially during high-pressure situations.

Technical Expectations:

  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and monitoring.
  • Proven track record of operational excellence across AWS environments, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer are strongly preferred and indicative of the expected level of expertise.
  • Strong background in Linux-based systems and distributed environments.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume batch processing systems and schedulers.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, shell, and SQL for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of networking, system performance, and security best practices.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues under time pressure.

What Sets You Apart:

  • You take ownership end-to-end and do not pass problems, you solve them.
  • You bring a calm, structured approach under pressure, especially during production incidents.
  • You are highly responsive and action-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • You balance technical depth with emotional intelligence, knowing how to lead teams through challenges.
  • You proactively identify risks and fix problems before they impact clients.

Why This Role Matters:

This is a mission-critical leadership role. The systems you own directly power the data our clients rely on to make investment decisions. There is no room for downtime, ambiguity, or slow response. If you are looking for a role where you can own production, drive impact, and lead from the front, this is it.

What You Can Do:
  • Have a deep technical understanding of AWS.
  • Manage monitoring of systems and applications including Linux, Windows, and AWS services.
  •  Manage deployment of applications across a multitude of servers and operating systems hosted on AWS.

  •  Manage and optimize daily/nightly batch job schedules and operations.
  • Lead technical initiatives and provide guidance to IT Operations and Devops team members.
  • Work with CI/CD tools, tasks schedulers, and Amazon Web Services.
Skills You'll Need:
  •  Expert level with Linux and Windows environments.
  •  Expert leading operations teams and mentoring engineers.
  •  Lead with best practices in IT infrastructure, networking and security.
  • Ability to troubleshoot database issues.
  • Strong understanding of batch processing systems and job scheduling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
  •  AWS or any other cloud services experience/certification.
  •  Experience with Teamcity or Terraform.
  •  Experience with enterprise job scheduling tools and batch operation optimization.
 What We Offer:
  • A collaborative environment where everyone's input makes a difference.
  •  Paid time off: Vacation, Personal, Sick days, and Holidays.
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits (NJT, MTA, etc.) and 401k plan offered.
