Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Manages 7 Software Engineers from entry to very experienced Lead levels in an Agile environment
- Drives performance of team with Leads and stake holders
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Experience leading technology projects
- Experience managing technologists
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
- Experience in Java Full Stack, Java Frameworks, JavaScript (React, Angular) and Python
- Experience with Cloud based Technologies (AWS) and Relational Databases (Oracle)
- Strong mentoring experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Proven success in managing Software Engineering team(s) in a very large and complex environment
