Junior AI Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

The Opportunity:

Come join the GCSS-MC program, where we are developing advanced AI solutions to support and automate internal program processes. You will get to work with other AI engineers on the latest AI technologies to create impactful solutions for development, operations, and Agile program management office activities.Responsibilities:

Participate in creating AI solutions for internal program processes.

Conduct prompt/context engineering to improve accuracy of chatbot responses.

Perform development (likely using Python) on AI solutions that require additional coding.

Create automations using Power Automate in support of AI solutions.

Perform work using an Agile methodology according to monthly sprints.

Report task progress weekly at a minimum.

Present Sprint accomplishments during Sprint Review.

Qualifications:

Required: 
We are looking for software engineers with a passion for AI who are either formally educated or self-taught in Generative AI concepts.

Currently enrolled full time in a bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.

Minimum of a basic knowledge and understanding of software development concepts and processes.

Hands-on experience using Generative AI and ideally with context engineering and fine tuning techniques.

Basic understanding of Agile concepts.

Desired:

Applicable certifications in related field

Previous internship experience in Systems/Software Engineering
